M.TECH in NANOMEDICAL SCIENCES – AMRITA/DST PG PROGRAM

M.Tech program in Nanomedical Sciences, the first of its kind in Nanomedicine in India started in August 2007 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Kochi, Kerala. This program is now a joint Amrita/Department of Science and Technology (DST) program. Admission to this M.Tech program at the Amrita Centre for Nanosciences is announced for the academic year 2008. 10 of 30 selected students will be funded by a prestigious DST fellowship.

The interdisciplinary program provides expertise in nanomaterial and nanomaterials processing, bio-nanotechnology and nano-medical sciences with the combined expertise of over 20 Amrita faculty members. Interested students with Masters in Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Biotechnology; B.Tech in Biomedical, Biotechnology or Polymer Engineering; MBBS and BDS can apply for the 30 available seats in this interdisciplinary M.Tech program. Students who have qualified GATE in any of the above disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.

CIMS gives utmost importance to assisting students in getting suitable placements after successful completion of the program. The placement team at CIMS staffed with senior professionals and executives builds corporate relationships and coordinates to ensure placement interviews by organizations at various cities. CIMS also facilitates students preparation through a variety of preparatory exercises on a continuous basis through the first and second year.

Merit Scholarships/Student Assistantships
CIMS encourages meritorious students through Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are initially based on marks obtained by the student in the bachelor’s degree and later on based on the academic performance of the student. These merit scholarships will be provisionally announced at the time of admission by the Admissions Committee based on the bachelor’s degree marks obtained cumulatively for all years. For applicants who are yet to receive their final year marks, scholarships will be awarded based on cumulative marks of all years up to and including the penultimate year. The merit scholarships will be up to 50% of the tuition fee.

For the purpose of calculation, marks of all subjects, including languages, will be counted.

These merit scholarships will be applicable for the first semester. For subsequent semesters, scholarshipholders will have to maintain a prescribed minimum CGPA along with required attendance. Details will be provided in the Student Handbook.

CIMS provides student assistantships, consisting of a monthly stipend, for highly meritorious students during the second year.

The MBA Program
The MBA Program provides the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business anywhere in the world. The MBA Program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt and integrate those skills in different management settings.

The students are encouraged to choose eight courses from the following elective streams: Marketing, HRM, Finance and IT & Systems. Student, will have the flexibility in choosing more than one course from these elective streams.
Students will also have the facility for dual specialization. Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD UGAT ADMIT CARDS:
For downloading your admit card kindly follow the following procedure:
Check website link: www.aima-ind.org/ugatadmitcard.asp seven days before the test date.
Access individual admit card using UGAT Registration Form Number
Take the printout of the admit card from the above link. Admit card will have the roll number and test centre address.
Affix on the admit card two similar photographs.
Get the photographs n the admit card attested by any Gazzetted officer or Head of the Institute / College from where the candidate has graduated or graduating.
Report to the test centre at least 45 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the test
