MBA ADMISSION 2008

Enrollment: The students are required to register for the 2 year MBA Program of the ICFAI University, Tripura under flexible mode.

Eligibility:
Graduation in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks.
Final year degree students awaiting results.

Award:
Successful students will receive the MBA degree from the ICFAI University, Tripura subject to University Regulations.

Cygmax Institute of Management Studies (CIMS) was established to extend academic support and placement assistance for candidates interested in pursuing the MBA Program of the ICFAI University, Tripura, under the flexible mode. The University is in no way associated with the academic support and placement assistance rendered by CIMS. CIMS will operate at the following campuses: Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Madurai, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The campuses are being established and will be fully operational by May 2008.

CIMS strives for maintaining reputation for quality teaching, field based assignments, case based learning, productive learning based internships and final placements in reputed organizations. CIMS has evolved a comprehensive student centric learning approach consisting of several stages, designed to add significant value to the learner’s understanding in an integrated manner.

Summer Internship
CIMS organizes summer internships for the benefit of students at leading organizations at various cities across the country. CIMS also supports the assignments spread over 14 weeks in internship closely guided through its faculty.

Final Placements
CIMS gives utmost importance to assisting students in getting suitable placements after successful completion of the program. The placement team at CIMS staffed with senior professionals and executives builds corporate relationships and coordinates to ensure placement interviews by organizations at various cities. CIMS also facilitates students preparation through a variety of preparatory exercises on a continuous basis through the first and second year.

Merit Scholarships/Student Assistantships
CIMS encourages meritorious students through Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are initially based on marks obtained by the student in the bachelor’s degree and later on based on the academic performance of the student. These merit scholarships will be provisionally announced at the time of admission by the Admissions Committee based on the bachelor’s degree marks obtained cumulatively for all years. For applicants who are yet to receive their final year marks, scholarships will be awarded based on cumulative marks of all years up to and including the penultimate year. The merit scholarships will be up to 50% of the tuition fee.

For the purpose of calculation, marks of all subjects, including languages, will be counted.

These merit scholarships will be applicable for the first semester. For subsequent semesters, scholarshipholders will have to maintain a prescribed minimum CGPA along with required attendance. Details will be provided in the Student Handbook.

CIMS provides student assistantships, consisting of a monthly stipend, for highly meritorious students during the second year.

The MBA Program
The MBA Program provides the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business anywhere in the world. The MBA Program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt and integrate those skills in different management settings.

Program Structure
The Program covers 27 courses apart from 2 Management Theses and 4 courses of Soft Skill Labs spread over 2 years in 4 semesters. Students are also required to undergo a summer internship program.

Electives
The students are encouraged to choose eight courses from the following elective streams: Marketing, HRM, Finance and IT & Systems. Student, will have the flexibility in choosing more than one course from these elective streams.
Students will also have the facility for dual specialization. Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course.
