Applications are invited for admission to Diploma in Nursing Course for 2008-09 Session from the eligible Women candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

(1) Candidates should have completed 17 years of age and should not have completed 30 years as on 31.12.2008 . SC/ST candidates can apply upto the age of 35 years.
(2) OC,BC,BCM and MBC candidates should have passed Higher Secondary conducted by the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary state Board/any other equivalent Board with aggregate marks of 40% in any subjects (excluding Tamil and English)are eligible in apply. 5% relaxation is permitted to SC/ST candidates.

Candidates should have studied Tamil as the First Language and English as the Second Language.

(3) Candidates requiring the application and prospectus for Diploma in Nursing Course for 2008-09 Session can obtain the same on payment of Crossed Demand Draft for Rs.200/- (Rs.Two hundred only) drawn in favour of the Secretary, Selection committee, Chennai in the following Nursing Training Centres. The Demand Draft should have been issued by any of the Nationalised Banks only and dated not earlier than 10.12.2008 and should be payable at Chennai.

(6) The women candidates who desire to get the application through post, can obtain the applications at any of the Training centres mentioned in Para (3) by sending the postal stamps to the value of Rs.60/- with self-addressed envelope along with the DD for Rs.200/- being the cost of application, drawn in favor of the Secretary, Selection committee, Chennai -10. SC/ST candidates need not send the DD, nut they have to send attested copy of community certificate.
(7) All the details regarding the selection are given in the prospectus.
(8) Completed applications should reach the Secretary, Selection committee, 162, E.V.R.Salai, Kilpauk, Chennai-10 on or before 5.00 pm on 20.12.2008.
(9) Application forms and prospectus will not be issued from the Directorate of Medical education and selection committee office at Kilpauk, Chennai-10. either in person or by post.

A Bachelor’s degree with honours/Masters degree (research based)from a reputable university.

Candidates without TOEFL(>_570) and GRE(>_1200/3.5) scores, or minimum GATE score of 90 percentile can sit for NTU’s English Proficiency Test(EPT)and Technical Proficiency test (TPT).

Scholarships
Successful applicants will receive (a)full tuition fee waiver worth up to $44000 (b)monthly stipend of $2000 that increases to $2500 after confirmation of Ph.D. candidature.
