Ph.D. Opportunities in Singapore

The school of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites applications for Ph.D. studentship starting August 2009 in Micro system & Bio/Nanotechnology, Micro/Nano fabrication, Virtual Reality/Robotics and intelligent systems, systems and engineering management, clean energy, or Aerospace engineering.

Eligibility:

A Bachelor’s degree with honours/Masters degree (research based)from a reputable university.

Candidates without TOEFL(>_570) and GRE(>_1200/3.5) scores, or minimum GATE score of 90 percentile can sit for NTU’s English Proficiency Test(EPT)and Technical Proficiency test (TPT).

Scholarships
Successful applicants will receive (a)full tuition fee waiver worth up to $44000 (b)monthly stipend of $2000 that increases to $2500 after confirmation of Ph.D. candidature.

How to apply:

To apply, email your resume including test details to MSOHMC@ntu.edu.sg before Ist January 2009. Those who will be taking GATE 2009 are also encouraged to apply (and inform us when GATE results are announced).

Information sharing and Interview Sessions

An information sharing session will be held on 24th January 2009 at 10.00 am at the GRT Convention Centre, GRT Grand Hotel, T-Nagar, Chennai. Personal interviews will be conducted thereafter. EPT and TPT will be conducted for those who do not meet the minimum TOEFL and or GRE requirements. Walk ins are welcome. Please bring along your resume.
