Applications have been invited for the Amrita engineering entrance examination to be held on April 19, 2009 across the country for admission to B.Tech. programmes at the Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bangalore and coimbatore.

Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examination with at least 60 per cent marks each in mathematics, physics and chemistry are eligible to apply.

Sale of application forms will begin on January 5.

Applicants should register for BITSAT 2009 by applying in the prescribed application form on www.bitsadmission.com The print-out of the completed form along with the prescribed fee of Rs.1000 (Rs.500 for female applicants)should be sent to the Admission Officer, BITS, Pilani-333 031. Last date for the receipt of completed application is January 31, 2009.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)under the Government of India has invited applications for admission to its Bachelors (B.Des.-accessory design , fashion communication, fashion design, knitwear design, leather design and textile design, and B.F.Tech. apparel production) and Masters (M.Des.-design, fashion management, and M.F.Tech.fashion technology) programmes conducted at the NIFT centres in Kannur, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New delhi, Patna, Rae Bareli, Shillong, Bhopal and Kolkatta.
