Admissions to all Programmes will be made purely on merit. Admissions to all Higher degree Programmes are based on the performance of the candidates in the computer based online testconducted by BITS followed by interviews of shortlisted candidate The test will be a computer based online test conducted by BITS Pilani at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Computer based online test means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers though the use of keyboard & mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. The test are planned to be conducted will be conducted during 18th-19th December 2011 and the candidate can choose the center to take the test as prescribed in later sections.

Advertisement for Second Semester Admission starting in January 2011 for Higher Degree and Ph.D Programme is released now. The Last Date for the hard copy of the completed Application form to reach the Admission office BITS, Pilani is 5.00 PM 30th November 2010.
BITS Online Entrance Exam 2011 for HD Admissions
For admission to Higher Degree programmes leading to M.E./M.Pharm. candidates have to appear in the Online tests conducted by BITS at designated centers in different cities for more details visit http://www.bitsadmission.com
Shortlisted candidates will be required to come for an interview at Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad at their own cost and the admission is made on the basis of the performance in the online test and interviews.

Second Semester BE/ B.Tech Admissions
Thapar University, Patiala invites applications from eligible candidates to admit students to the Second Semester of UG programme in January 2011 by conducting its own entrance test in the month of December 2010. This admission will be made for the vacancies that may exist in the first year. The students admitted in this category shall have to clear all the courses as per the scheme of the discipline of Thapar University, in which she/he is admitted. The eligibility & schedule of the test will be as under:
Eligibility:
1 She/he should have been a student of BE/BTech programme of a recognized Institute/University and have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from recognized board
and have secured at least 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer science/Biology/Biotechnology.
2 She/he should have appeared in the Entrance Test to be conducted by Thapar University. The
cut-off marks in the Entrance test shall be 20% (15% for SC/ST).
3 She/he should be a citizen of India.
4 She/he should bear a good character and satisfy the prescribed requirements of the University.

In case of a tie among candidates securing equal marks in the merit list, the same will be broken in accordance with the following criteria:
(a) Candidate senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.
(b) In the case of a tie in age also, a candidate getting higher percentage of marks in the
qualifying examination shall be ranked higher in order of merit.
(c) In the case of a tie in percentage of marks in the qualifying examination also, a candidate securing higher percentage of marks in matriculation/secondary or equivalent examination shall rank higher in order of merit.
Reservation
25% seats shall be reserved for SC/ST category and 3% for physically handicapped category. In
case, any seat in reserved category remains vacant, the same shall be converted to the General

Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (UP)invites applications for Research Courses leading to the award of M.Phil/Ph.D. degree in all the Faculties of the University. Admission to the said Course is made according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the Academic Council and as enforced in the University subject to amendments from time to time. The admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. is granted by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the respective Board of Studies/Committee for Advanced Studies and Research and the Faculty.
There will be Admission Test/Interview for admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. courses as per regulations of M.Phil/Ph.D.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to M.Phil/Ph.D. Course:-
A candidate will be eligible for admission to a Course of study leading to the degree of M.Phil/Ph.D if he/she has passed the Master's Degree examination (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. etc.) from this University or an equivalent examination recognised by this University, with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade (In case of the Faculty of Medicine, all candidates who have successfully completed their Masters Degree may be considered eligible for admission to M. Phil. / Ph.D.) in a subject relevant to his/her proposed field of Research, provided that he/she also had obtained not less than 55% marks for admission to Ph.D. and 50% marks for M.Phil at his/her Bachelor's Degree examination subject to any further requirements for eligibility that may be laid down by the Board of Studies concerned from time to time. For details the respective Chairmen of the Departments of Studies may be approached.

The Eligible Candidate should fill the Online Application Form available on the Controller's Office website www.amucontrollerexams.com and the generated PDF copy should be sent to the Chairmen of the concerned Department having first preference or to the Coordinators Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit or to the Director of the Centre as the case may be along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of Finance Officer, AMU, Aligarh payable at Aligarh or Cash Receipt of an equivalent amount from AMU Cash Counter (Non refundable). The Generated PDF copy of the Application Form must reach the concerned Office on or before 10.11.2010 up till 5:00 P.M. and in no case (including Postal delay) the generated PDF copy will be accepted beyond the last date.
Incomplete Application Forms, those received late, without requisite fee or not supported with the required certificates/documents shall be rejected and no further correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
No University employee other then A.M.U. Teacher or an employee of another organization will be allowed to complete admission formalities until and unless he/she submits a Leave
Sanction Order from the competent authority for the whole duration of the Course (Minimum Two Years for Ph.D. and One Year for M.Phil Course) as the M.Phil/Ph.D. is a full time Course with the condition of regular attendance according to the regulations framed by the Academic Council.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM:

3. Put your thumb impression, signature and paste your recent photographs at the designated place on the Application Form.

Foreign Nationals holding qualifying degree (minimum qualification given at Pt 1 above) from foreign countries are not required to appear in the Admission Test or Interview, and their admission shall be recommended by Board of Studies to CASR on individual basis. However the foreignnationals who have obtain their qualifying degree from Indian Universities will have to appear for the Admission Test/Interview.
B. Foreign Nationals must have the Draft of U.S.$14/Cash receipt of equivalent amount from A.M.U. Cash Counter in favour of Finance Officer, A.M.U. payable at Aligarh with him as candidates are barred to proceed further without filling up the Test Fee/Processing Charges Column.
C. Foreign Nationals are required to send the original Printout of the generated PDF File to the Deputy Controller (Admission), Admission Section, A.M.U., Aligarh-202002, India on or before the last date along with the original Draft/CR and other related documents. Before sending the Printout of the Form the candidate must ensure that he/she has:
Affixed his/her recent passport size photograph on the Form on the required places
Put his/her thumb impression in the box given for the purpose
Appended the Signature after going through the declaration
Attached the DD/C.R. and all the required documents (High School/SS Certificate etc.) with the Application Form
Written his/her Transaction ID & Name at the back of the Draft
Attached a No Objection Certificate from the employer, if employed.

ELIGIBILITY: Any candidate who has passed the M.A,/M.SC./M.COM. or equivalent Examination of this University with 55% marks in aggregate (SC/ST with 50% marks) or with 60% marks in aggregate of any other recognized University. Students who are taking M.A. Part-II examination in the above mentioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but their final admission would depend on passing the examination obtaining the required marks mentioned above.

The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is an autonomous institution supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The Institute imparts long term research training leading to a PhD degree of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NII invites Applications for the PhD programme from candidates interested in pursuing scientific career in the following biological and related sciences
