Tamilnadu SET Exam 2011 for Lectureship



Bharathiar University will hold the State Eligibility Test (SET) on Sunday, 14th August 2011 for determining the eligibility of Indian Nationals for recruitment of Lecturers in Universities and Colleges in Tamil Nadu & Union Territory of Puducherry in the subjects listed below

Tamilnadu SET/ SLET ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

I) Only those Candidates who have completed / are pursuing PG degree are eligible to appear in SET. Others need not apply.

ii) Candidates who have secured atleast 55% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Master's Degree (or) equivalent examination are eligible forthis test. The Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Physically Challenged (PC) / Visually Challenged (VC) category candidates who have secured atleast 50% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Master's Degree Examination are eligible for this Examination.

iii) Candidates who have appeared (or) will be appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree Examination and whose result is still awaited (or) candidates whose examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master's Degree examination (or) equivalent with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PC/VC category candidates). Such candidates must obtain theirP.G. degree Marksheet within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.

iv) The Ph.D degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19" September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% to appear in SET Examination.

v) Candidates have to appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

vi) CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THAT THEIR CANDIDATURE IS PROVISIONAL. THE MERE FACT THAT AN ADMISSION CARD HAS BEEN ISSUED TO A CANDIDATE WILL NOT IMPLY THAT THE UNIVERSITY HAS FINALLY ACCEPTED HIS/HER CANDIDATURE. CANDIDATE MAY NOTE THAT THEIR CANDIDATURE WILL BE DEEMED FINAL UPON VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS.


vii) The UGC is considering the OBC candidates as per the Central List of 'Government of India' for giving relaxation in NET Examinations. Further, it has been decided that for SET Examinations, which are valid within the respective state, OBC candidates as per the List maintained by the respective state, may also be allowed to be eligible for relaxation in qualifying marks
in SET examination, in addition to the OBC candidates as per the 'Central List' maintained by Govt, of India.

viii) Candidates seek concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC/SC/ST/PC/VC certificate along with their Application Forms. Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility along with printout of their Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the university at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

AGE LIMIT: No Upper age limit


Tamilnadu SET EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTORESHIP)

I) NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/Institution, ii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET.


Tamilnadu SET EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT

For General Candidate, the examination fee Is Rs. 1000/-, for Other backward classes the fee is Rs.750/- and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Visually Challenged. The fee should be paid in the form of a single crossed bank demand draft from any Nationalised Bank with six months validity drawn in favour of The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641046 payable at Coimbatore. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST of Tamilnadu SET 2011
I) The test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held on Sunday, 14.08.2011 in two separate sessions as mentioned below.

First I 100 Marks 09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.
First II 100 Marks 10.45A.M.to12.00Noon
Second III 100 Marks 01.30 P.M. to 04.00 P.M

Paper-I will be of general nature intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidates. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidates. Paper-I shall consist of sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each, out of which the candidate would be required to answer only fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.

Paper-ll shall consist of 50 compulsory objective type questions. The candidate will have to mark their responses for questions of paper-l and paper-ll on the optical mark reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the test booklet. Paper-Ill will consist of only descriptive questions from the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates. The Candidates will be required to write answers in the space provided in the test booklet.
A candidate who does not appear in Paper I will not be permitted to appear in paper II and paper III. Paper III will be evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper -1 and Paper - II as decided by the appropriate authority.

ii) Paper-III will be evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in paper-l and Paper-II


Syllabus for Tamilnadu SET Exam for Lectireship:

Question paper for Paper I is common for all the subjects in which SET is conducted and it will be bi- lingual (English and Tamil). Paper II and Paper III of certain subjects will also be bi-lingual and details are furnished below. The syllabus for Paper I, Paper 11 and Paper 111 will not be sent to the candidates by the University. How to Apply for Tamilnadu SET ?

Candidates seeking admission to the test must apply in the prescribed application form (one copy only) as given in the advertisement. Application form along with the Admission card, Attendance slip and Computer coding sheet may be taken from the advertisement and neatly typed on white paper (A-3 size) in double space and on one side of the paper only. There is no objection to candidates using printed Application Form, if available from private agencies but they should ensure that its format is exactly same as published by the University in its advertisement. The application not in the prescribed format will be rejected. Bharathiar University shall not issue application form for the SET examination and any request in this regard shall not be entertained. Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in the Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0. (In the case of SC/ST candidates an OGPA of 6.5/10.0 ).

For ICAR quota candidates a minimum of 6.0/10.0 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent % marks in bachelor’s degree (SC/ST 5.5/10.0 is the requirement)

Students in the final semester of their degree programme are also eligible to apply. However, they should have secured their qualifying degree on or before the date prescribed for Admission.


Reservation of Seats and Admission for Sponsored Candidates

25% of the seats shall be reserved for the eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on All India Entrance Examination to be conducted by them. At the time of admission, the candidate should remit the fee for application form and registration and
submit the filled in application to the University.

Change of discipline will not be considered after the 15th working day from the date of commencement of the PG programme. The re-allotment of discipline will not be given to candidates who have been admitted for the PG programme and subsequently applied for the extension of joining time/temporary discontinuance.

The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies, Panangad P.O., Kochi 682506, Kerala - so as to reach on or before 16.06.2011.

For Masters degree programme there will be an entrance examination of two hours
duration with questions from B.F.Sc syllabus of College of Fisheries, Kerala Agricultural University, Panangad. The questions will be objective type. There will be a common entrance examination for all the programmes as listed below.

Centralised Allotment Process (CAP)

Applications have been invited for admission to all UG programmes in the affiliated Arts & Science Colleges/Constituent Colleges owned and run by the MG University, Kottayam for the academic Year 2011-12 through Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) except UG Programmes under the Faculty of Fine Arts and those UG Programmes admission to which is based on entrance examinations.

Details of seats that come under the ambit of centralised Allotment Process:
i) Govt. Colleges: Total seats available in government colleges
ii) Aided Colleges: Open quota seats, seats earmarked for SC/ST candidates.
iii) Unaided Colleges/Unaided Programmes conducted in Aided Colleges: 50% of the total seats inclusive of seats reserved for SC/ST and SEBC.
iv) Constituent Colleges owned and run by the University: 50% of the total seats including seats resrved for SC/ST and SEBC.

Eligibility:
Candidates eligible for the admission have to posess the following qualifications/criteria:
a) Master’s Degree (10+2+3+2 or 11+1+3+2 or 12+3+2) in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Computer Applications / Electronic Media / Visual Communication / Environmental Science / Physics / Chemistry / Maths / English / Commerce / Management / Psychology / Sociology / Education / HRD or any other discipline related to Engineering Education with not less than 55% of marks or equivalent Grade and a fist class either in Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.

Admission to M.Sc. and D.Phil in Cognitive Science 2011-2012



University of Allahabad

Eligibility
For M.Sc. Cognitive Science:

Students who have completed a Bachelors degree in Behavioural/ Cognitive Science or related disciplines including Psychology, Neuroscience, Biosciences, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Medicine, etc. are eligible to apply for admission to the Master programme.

Students should have at least 55% (for General) at the Undergraduate level (50% for OBC/SC/ST) for appearing in the entrance exam. A written entrance test followed by interview is conducted for the purpose of selection.

For D.Phil in Cognitive Science:

Students who have completed a Master program in Behavioural/ Cognitive Science or related disciplines including Psychology, Neuroscience, Sciences, Engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering), Linguistics, Medicine, and Philosophy are eligible to apply for admission to the Doctoral Program. Students with NET/ JRF/ CSIR/ GATE/ ICMR are encouraged to apply.

A minimum score at the Post-graduate Examination of 55% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point under the seven point Letter Grade Scale), laid down by the UGC in the case of General/ OBC candidates; or 50% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/ Grade Point) in the case of SC / ST/ PH/VH candidates.

A minimum average score in the entire academic career of 54% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point) in the case of General/ OBC candidates; or 49% marks (or the equivalent Letter Grade/Grade Point) in the case of SC/ ST/ PH/VH candidates.
