The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) invites applications for the Following Post Graduate Programmes

Ph.D Programmes in the following Disciplines
Aquaculture
Fisheries Resource Management
Fish Processing Technology



Eligibility

A Masters’ degree in Fishery Science (M.F.Sc.) in the respective discipline recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0. (In the case of SC/ST candidates, an OGPA of 6.5/10.0 ).

M.F.Sc Programme in the following Disciplines
Aquaculture
Fishery Biology & Resource Management
Fishery Hydrography
Fish Processing Technology



Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in the Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) recognized by Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0. (In the case of SC/ST candidates an OGPA of 6.5/10.0 ).

For ICAR quota candidates a minimum of 6.0/10.0 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent % marks in bachelor’s degree (SC/ST 5.5/10.0 is the requirement)

Students in the final semester of their degree programme are also eligible to apply. However, they should have secured their qualifying degree on or before the date prescribed for Admission.


Reservation of Seats and Admission for Sponsored Candidates

25% of the seats shall be reserved for the eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on All India Entrance Examination to be conducted by them. At the time of admission, the candidate should remit the fee for application form and registration and
submit the filled in application to the University.

Change of discipline will not be considered after the 15th working day from the date of commencement of the PG programme. The re-allotment of discipline will not be given to candidates who have been admitted for the PG programme and subsequently applied for the extension of joining time/temporary discontinuance.


HOW TO APPLY

Application forms and prospectus for admission to the above P.G. programmes are
available in the KUFOS website www.cofpanangad.org in Adobe Acrobat / MS WORD format. The downloaded application should be printed on A4 size paper. The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies, Panangad P.O., Kochi 682506, Kerala - so as to reach on or before 16.06.2011.

The application fee shall be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the
Registrar, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies, Panangad, payable at the State Bank of Travancore, Vytilla branch, Ernakulam. No other mode of payment will be accepted.

The filled in application along with D.D. should reach the Registrar, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies , Panangad P.O., Kochi 682506 , Kerala on or before 16.06.2011

A passport size photograph of the candidate bearing his/her signature should be affixed on the application and admit card in the appropriate place.

The discipline will be allotted to the applicant according to his/her choice and merit-rank.


SELECTION

For Masters degree programme there will be an entrance examination of two hours
duration with questions from B.F.Sc syllabus of College of Fisheries, Kerala Agricultural University, Panangad. The questions will be objective type. There will be a common entrance examination for all the programmes as listed below.
