Admisisions open for PG courses of C-DAC at Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Bangalore through
the eligibility cum ranking test on July 13, 2008.

Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline/Diploma in engineering or equivalent as
recognized by Central or state government, depending upon the course (PGDST-2008 OR
FPGDST-2008) being opted for. For details see the website.

Those who have appeared for their final exams are also eligible to appear for this
test (proof of graduation to be submitted by December 2008)

The exam fees is Rs.300/-and is payable in cash or by DD in favour of "C-DAC Mumbai"

and computer organisation and data structures for those who have opted for the FPGDST course.

About the University
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is an affiliating and teaching University, established by Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999. M.Sc. Biodiversity and Conservation
The course will introduce to biodiversity and conservation biology and will impart in‐depth knowledge on topics ranging from evolution, ecology, land use, wilderness preservation, global warming, species extinction, and the economic and social impact of environmental actions.
The aim of this course is to provide the theoretical and practical background needed for those looking to pursue their career in the field of conservation of biological diversity and their natural habitats based on scientific research. The objective of this course is to make the professional aware of the social, political and economic issues relevant to achieving the above goal. The course would produce biologists who can communicate and address the problems related to conservation projects.


Innovative Teaching
Some modules will make use of the Virtual Field Trip to introduce students to field research and the types of ecosystems existing in the Indian Peninsula.

Research Project
Significant independent project: This will be a 6 month project in any area of biodiversity and conservation, taxonomy, ecology, ethnobiology, environmental problems and its advocacy.

Course structure: 2 Years (Semester wise)
Intake: 15 (Fifteen)

Eligibility
B.Sc. degree or equivalent (Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Anthropology or any field of Life Sciences) with minimum 60% marks.
