Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management (DIHRM), established by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, is a unique institution in India devoted to study, conserve and preserve the heritage. Archaeological monuments, arts and crafts, oral and written literature, living traditions, natural features and environment are all part of our heritage. Collectively, it is the past that we have a responsibility to safeguard for the future. Our solemn responsibility is to respect, cherish and preserve it.

The Institute aims training professionals who could study, view, conserve and preserve the Heritage holistically. To achieve this goal, DIHRM conducts Master’s Courses in Heritage Management.


Applications are invited for the admission to the following courses:

Master in Archaeology and Heritage Management (No. of seats - 30)
Master in Conservation, Preservation and Heritage Management (No. of seats - 30)

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Graduate (3 years degree course) in any subject of Humanities or Sciences (Those appearing in 3rd year final year final exam. may also apply)

Reservation of seats in admission shall be in accordance with the Rules of G.G.S. Indraprastha University as detailed in their prospectus for various categories and 3% for persons with disabilities.


Prescribed application form (with the information brochure containing details of eligibility, schedule of test, prescribed courses etc.) can be had form the Accountant of the Institute on payment of Rs.150/- in cash or Rs.175/- in form of Demand Draft in favour of "Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management" to be sent if by post to "DIHRM" payable on any nationalized bank at Delhi. The form can also be downloaded from their web site www.dihrm.com Downloaded forms will be accepted only if it is accompanied with demand draft of Rs.400/-.

General Conditions for Admission to M.A. Courses of Study
Any person seeking admission to a course of study in the Institute should have a graduate from an Indian or recognised foreign university or has passed an examination recognised as equivalent to a degree; and possess such other qualifications as may be prescribed by the Academic Council from time to time.
The candidate seeking admission to a course of study in the Institute must satisfy the eligibility conditions laid down in this behalf.
No person who has been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude shall be admitted to a course of study or be permitted to any examination of the Institute until a period of two years has lapsed from the date of expiry of the sentence imposed on him. However, the Academic Council may, in a special case, exempt any person from the operation of this condition.
Applications for admission/registration shall be made on a prescribed form to the Registrar of the Institute.
Admission shall be finalised not later than the date prescribed by the Academic Council from time to time. Provided that the Director may, at his discretion, allow admission to any course after the prescribed date as aforesaid, for any exceptional reason, such as late declaration of result or such other reasons, as considered satisfactory by the Director. Provided further that no admission to a course of study shall be made prior to the date fixed by the Academic Council each year. However, no admission shall be made after 30 days from the commencement of the classes of that course.


Admission of NRIs/Sponsored Candidates
All the candidates who want to be considered for admission to the seats reserved for NRIs/ sponsored candidates shall have to appear at the entrance test. Such candidates/ if not admitted to unreserved seats will be offered admission according to the merit obtained by them among the NRI's/sponsored candidates. Admission to NRI's/sponsored seats will commence after the closure of admission to unreserved seats. Once a candidate is admitted to NRI's/sponsored seat, he/she will lose his/her claim for admission to an unreserved seat.

A student once admitted will not get any refund of fee even if he/she decides to leave the programme.


Admission of Foreign Nationals
Foreign self-supporting non-sponsored students who are eligible can seek admission to any of the courses offered by the Institute. However, their final selection and admission is subject to their possessing student/long term visas. They will not be registered as student unless they fulfil this condition.

Foreign Student will get their application forwarded and recommended through the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. They may not be required to appear at the entrance test. The fee to be charged from them shall be at par with the fee which is chargeable from NRI's/sponsored students. However, they will have to pay the other fees as prescribed by the University/Institute from time to time.

Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from a foreign university shall submit all the relevant information/documents for establishing the equivalence of their qualifications. For this purpose, a certificate of equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi shall be required to be furnished by the candidate.

Candidates admitted against NRI's/Sponsored Seats shall pay a fee of US$ 500 per annum in addition to the above mentioned fee. The amount in US Dollars is payable in the Indian Rupees. The conversion rate of US Dollars in Indian Rupees will be the date on which it is payable.


Details of Entrance Examination for Admission in Master Course
I. Compulsory Aptitude Test Time Duration: 90 Min., Max. Marks - 50
SECTION A : Compulsory multiple choice answers (with 10 questions each from International Heritage and National Heritage Concerns). Each question carries 1 marks. 20 x 1 = 20

SECTION B : Short notes (4 questions each from International Heritage and National Heritage Issues of which 2 will have to be attempted from both sections). Each question carries 5 marks. 4 x 5 = 20

SECTION C: One long essay, offering a choice from either National/International Heritage Issues. This question will carry 10 marks.1 x 10=10

II. SPECIALIZED APTITUDE TEST: Time Duration - 90 Min., Max Marks - 50

SECTION A : Compulsory multiple choice answers (5 questions each from the disciplines of History, Culture, Archaeology and Conservation and Preservation). Each question will carry 1 marks. 20 x 1 = 20

SECTION B : Short notes; Questions to be attempted from both sections, (Archaeology and Conservation and Preservation). There will be each (4 questions in both sections, of which and 2 questions will have to be attempted from both sections). Each question will carry 5 marks each. 4 x 5 = 20

SECTION C : One long essay, offering a choice from either Archaeology or Conservation and Preservation. The question is of 10 marks
1 x 10 = 10

GROUP DISCUSSION : It will held in the afternoon of the same day after the written test. The topic of discussion will be general. The criteria under consideration will be the approach of a candidate towards the subject. The criteria for assessment would be :
a) the general level of confidence of the candidate
b) his ability to defend his view point
c) comprehensive knowledge about various issues/ concern
d) conduct in a multiple group setting
Total Marks : 50

Final Selection : On the basis of merit of aggregate of
a) Written Test
b) Group Discussion

Those candidates selected should have atleast 40% each in the written test and the Group Discussion.

There shall be an admission test fee of Rs. 250/- which shall not be refunded in any circumstances.

(f) Filled up application form must reach in the office of the principal, School of Nursing, Bokaro General Hospital, B.S.City (Jharkahand-827004) on 31/07/2008.


Only those candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the written test in English on 08/09/2008 after verification of Certificates. Those who qualify in written test will be called for interview on 11/09/2008. OBC Candidates must produce the OBC cerficates of not below the rank of D.M. that they do not belong to Creamy layer latest by 2007.

XX POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSE IN MECHANICAL WOOD INDUSTRIES TECHNOLOGY 2008-2009


IPIRTI is a premier National Research and Training Institute in the field of Mechanical Wood Industries Technology with excellent facilities.

PGD Course is a One Year full term training programme in Mechanical Wood Industries Technology. Course will commence from 3rd week of October 2008


Eligibility: Graduate in Science/Engineering from any recognized University.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES
The training Centre with modern training facilities for mechanical wood industries was established in the Institute with the assistance of FAO/UNDP/GOl in the year 1989 to cater to HRD needs of the wood based industry in the country. The Institute offers one year Post Graduate Diploma Course (PGDC) in Mechanical Wood Industries Technology (MWIT). In addition, short term vocational courses are organized on different aspects related to MWIT and other allied subjects. Courses are also organized for forest officers for enhancing their appreciation about the role of technology in efficient utilization of wood and development of wood alternates from renewable fibers.

PG DIPLOMA COURSE
The PGDC in MWIT aims at imparting professional knowledge and skills with regard to processing technologies for efficient utilization of wood through conversion into engineered wood and a variety of panel materials/products viz. plywood, particle/fiber board, block board, flush door .The course also includes processing technology on bamboo mat based panel products and adhesive technology. Standardization aspects with respect to quality management and BIS certification are dealt with in details. Working knowledge on use of computers and internet is also imparted. Emphasis is given not only to theoretical background of various technologies but also practical and hands on exercises. The PGDC in MWIT is the only course of its type available in the country that has been widely recognized by the Industry. Annual intake of candidates for the course is restricted to 40.

Eligibility and Admission Procedure
Candidates possessing degree in Science/Engineering from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the PGD course. Candidates are selected from all over the country on the basis of marks obtained at the qualifying (degree/engineering) examinations by preparation of statewise
merit lists. Preference in admission is given to candidates sponsored by industries or organizations. Upper age limit is 28 years as on 1st October of the course year. Relaxation in age limit for SC/ST/OBC is as per the Government of India rules. There is, however, no age limit for sponsored candidates.
