Their flagship postgraduate degree programme providing multiple specialization options in Journalism; Video Production; Animation; Advertising & PR; Web
PG DIPLOMA [JOURNALISM]
A Course with strong focus on print media and providing for a lateral entry into the II year of their MA [COMMUNICATION] degree progrmame.
Admission Criteria for M. A. and PGDJ
ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to both the Programmes is a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor’s Degree.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s Degree Examination may also apply subject to completing writing their examinations, if any, before joining the Programme. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission. Eligible candidates with appropriate industry experience have an added advantage.
CAPTEST 2008
All candidates seeking admission to Amrita School of Communication for the PG programmes will be put through a selection process conducted by the school called CAPTEST at the Ettimadai campus of the Amrita University.
NATURE OF CAPTEST: CAPTEST is an examination in Creative Writing, Group Discussion, Elocution & Personal Interview.

A course designed in keeping with the spirit of the recommendations of UNESCO-AMIC, Singapore for journalism studies.
Admission Criteria for B. A. Mass Communication
ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum qualification to apply to B. A. Mass Communication programme is a pass in the Higher Secondary Board Examination with an aggregate of 50%, or any equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
Those who are awaiting their results can also apply. Such candidates will however have to fulfill the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Obtain a Demand Draft (DD) from a bank for Rs.350/- favouring 'amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham', payable at Coimbatore. Next, follow any of the following steps:
1. Download application from www.amrita.edu/ascom and send the completed form along with the DD OR
2. Obtain the form in persion from Admission Coordinator (Communication), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham by submitting the DD OR
3. Receive application by post by writting to Admission Coordinator (Communication), Amrita Vishwa vidya peetham, Ettimadai(p.o),Coimbatore-641105 along with the DD.
