National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation & Museology (NMIHACM) is a deemed University under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, located in the National Museum, New Delhi. The University offers specialized courses in (i) History of Art, (ii) Conservation & Restoration of Works of Art and (iii) Museology, leading to the award of M.A. and Ph.D. Degree. It also awards eight Merit Scholarships each @ Rs. 40,000/- per annum and 08 Merit-cum-Means Scholarships each @ Rs. 12,000/- per annum

Applications in prescribed form (to be downloaded from www.nmi.gov.in) are invited from eligible candidates for admission to M.A. and Ph.D. courses for the academic session starting in July, 2009, as per the following eligibility criteria

1. M.A. (History of Art): Seats 25 – A graduate degree from a recognized University.

Desirable – Background in Social Sciences, Liberal Arts or Fine Arts

2. M.A. (Conservation): Seats 15 – A graduate degree in any of the following subjects – Chemistry/Physics/Geology/Botany/Zoology/Computer Science/Fine Arts/History/History of Art/Architecture/Archaeology/Museology/Designing or a Diploma recognized as equivalent to graduate degree in any of these fields

3. M.A. (Museology): Seats 15 – B.A./B.Sc (Honours) or B.A./B.Sc/ B.F.A. (3 years) in any discipline under Humanities and Social Sciences/Sciences

Desirable – Background/PG Diploma in subjects related to History of Art and Museum Studies

4. Ph.D. (History of Art): Seats 4 – Any person holding a Master Degree in History of Art from this Institute or Master Degree in History of Art/History/Archaeology/Anthropology/ Aesthetics or its equivalent from a recognized University/deemed university

5. Ph.D. (Conservation): Seats 4 – Any person holding a Master Degree in Conservation from this institute or master degree in Chemistry/Physics/Life Sciences/ Museology/ Architecture or its equivalent from a recognized University/deemed University

B Tech course in Electronics and Communication and Mechanical Engineering(4 years)


Indian Navy – Cadet Entry Scheme for B.Tech 2009

Indian Navy invites Applications from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions regarding nationality as laid down by the Govt of India) to join the prestigious Naval Accademy, Ezhimala, Kerala under 10+2 (Technical) Cadet Entry Scheme

Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course cadets will be allotted Engineering or Electrical branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU).

Few cadets after first term may be nominated for B Tech in Naval Architecture from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). They will have to appear for Common Admission Test of CUSAT. The successful candidates after first term will undergo four years B. Tech in Naval Architecture and and Ship Building at CUSAT. Thereafter, the cadets will be deputed for a six months course in warship design at Visakhapatnam, followed by 18 months Post Graduate Diploma in Naval Architecture
(DIIT-NC) at IIT Delhi.

The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Age. 16 % to 19 years (i.e. born between 02 Jan 1991 & 01 Jul 1993. (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification. Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour /night blind.

M.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examination 2009

1. OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS, KERALA invites Applications for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Nursing (MSc Nursing) 2009-10 in the Nursing Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following Specialties.

2. Eligibility for Admission :
(i) Nativity :
Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala Origin.

(ii) Academic qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Nursing of Kerala, Calicut, Kannur or Mahatma Gandhi University or Degree recognized by them as equivalent from any other University. Candidates who have passed the post basic BSc Nursing (Regular Course) or equivalent after acquiring the General Nursing and Midwifery Course are also eligible to apply.

(iii) Experience :
Candidate should have one year experience as on the last date of submission of Application form, in any hospital with an average strength of 100 inpatients or in a School of Nursing or in a Community Health Nursing Programme or internment after Registration with the State Nursing Council.

However, the students of BSc Nursing 2003 admission batch, who have undergone compulsory internship in Government Medical Colleges/other institutions approved by the Government, will be considered for admission to the MSc Nursing Course, even if they have not completed one year internship on the last date of submission of application. However, they should have completed internship on or before 15th June 2009. Applicants shall have obtained registration with Kerala Nursing Council at the time of Counseling.

Note:
[a] The experience acquired by candidates after registration from Nursing Councils outside Kerala, after getting B Sc Nursing Degree will also be counted for experience.

[b] The period undergone by a candidate for completing the Post Basic Nursing Course will not be reckoned as work experience.

3. Selection of Candidates : Selection of Candidates except for 'Service Quota' will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), at Thiruvananthapuram on 19.07.2009 (Sunday). The Entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions.

4. Application forms: Application forms are different for General/Service candidates and for candidates belonging to SC/ST. The format of the Application and Prospectus will be available at the official website of the CEE, "cee-kerala.org" from 01.06.2009 (Monday) onwards. The candidate, seeking admission to the course through the entrance examination, can apply in the specific format along with the documents prescribed in the Prospectus and a fee of Rs.800/- (for general candidates) / Rs.400/- (for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram in any branch of SBT using the chalan provided along with the down loaded application form. The original chalan receipt should be attached with the application form. The candidates of Kerala origin who reside outside the state can apply in the downloaded application form along with the Demand Draft for Rs. 800/- (General candidates) and Rs. 400/- (SC/ST candidates) drawn from a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination payable at Thiruvananthapuram. The application form and prospectus will not be available from Medical Colleges or from the office of Director of Medical Education or from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded on any account.

Service candidates who wish to be considered for the General merit quota seats can appear for the Entrance Examination. They should forward the application to the CEE as in the case of General candidates, but through their Controlling Officer/Head of the Department on or before 25.06.2009 (Thursday). However they should send a copy of the Application form to the controlling officer concerned, if they are to be considered for service quota also along with necessary fee, as applicable in both the applications as specified.

Service candidates claiming Lecturer quota seats need not appear for the Entrance Examination. They should submit the application in the format available at the web site ~cee-kerala.org' to the Director of Medical Education/Director of Health Services before the stipulated date. They should remit the application fee of Rs.800/- (for general) and Rs.400/- (for SC/ST candidates) by chalan in the Treasury under the head of account 0210-03-105-29' and the chalan receipt should be attached along with the application form.

5. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms : Completed application with all the documents specified in the Prospectus and experience certificate, should be forwarded to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, either by Registered post/Speed post or hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 25.06.2009 (Thursday). Candidates applying under Service quota should send their applications and all required documents specified in the prospectus to the Director of Medical Education/ Director of Health Services, Thiruvananthapuram, so as to reach him/her before 5 pm on 25.06.2009. Candidates applying for admission under Service quota seats only, need not submit their applications to the CEE. Late applications including those brought after 5 PM on 25.06.2009 will not be accepted. The CEE or the other officers will not be responsible for any postal delay.

6. Candidates will be allowed neither to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances.

7. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately in the application form, for such cases, will not be considered.

8. Belated, incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard.


9. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish the Rank list of all candidates admitted for the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education.


10. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Lecturer Quota will be made by the Director of Medical Education, based on various provisions laid down in the prospectus, approved by the Government.

11. Candidates should go through the Prospectus, approved by the Government and which is made available in the web site 'cee-kerala.org', before submitting their applications.

National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) ,Master of Public Health (Field Epidemiology)


Two year course (Affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi)

ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates possessing MBBS degree from any recognized institution are eligible to apply for the course.


AGE:
The upper age limit is 45 years for in-service candidates and 35 years for others as on August 1, 2009. The upper age limit can be relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years in exceptional cases by the Admission Officer if he/she is satisfied with the merit of the case.

SEATS :
Intake will be limited to a maximum of 15 seats. (The matter regarding increase in number of seats from 15 to 20 is under consideration of the University). Of these, two seats are earmarked for World Health Organization sponsored fellows. For the remaining 13 seats, admission will be done on the basis of an entrance test. These 13 seats will be distributed in the ratio of 60% for In-Service Candidates (working in Health Institutions / Organizations in Central / State Government or Public Sector and having five years experience, of which at least three years should be in Public Health activities) and 40% for Direct Candidates.
In-Service Candidates shall, at the time of application or counseling for admission, furnish a letter from their employer that, if they are admitted, they would be relieved for two years for undertaking the course on a full-time basis at NICD. Reservation will be as per Government/University norms: 27% for Other Backward Classes; 15% for Scheduled Castes; 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes; 5% for Defence category and 3% for Physically Handicapped Candidates. One seat, which is supernumerary in nature; is earmarked for Kashmiri migrants; for which the admission will be based on the Entrance Test.

SELECTION:
Selection will be on the basis of an Entrance Test to be conducted on 5 July 2009 (Sunday) in Delhi. WHO sponsored candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test and such candidates will be enrolled to the University directly. Application Form and Information Bulletin for admission to MPH (FE) for the academic session 2009-10 will be available between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm on all working days from 4 June 2009 to 22 June 2009 on payment of Rs. 400/- (Four Hundred only) in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of "Director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases" payable at "Delhi". For obtaining the same by registered post, a Demand Draft of Rs. 450/- (Four Hundred and Fifty) in favour of "Director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases" payable at "Delhi" should be sent to the Administrative Officer (I), National Institute of Communicable Diseases, 22 Sham Nath Marg, Delhi-110054, so as to reach the Institute by 5.00 pm on 11 June 2009.

Application Form & Information Bulletin can also be downloaded from the website www.nicd.nic.in. Those who use downloaded Application Form must enclose a demand draft of Rs. 400/- (Rupees four hundred only), drawn in favour of "Director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases" payable at "Delhi" with the application form. They should write their name and address on the reverse of bank draft.


SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
Applications complete in all respects, should be submitted to the Director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases on or before 5.00 pm on 22 June 2009. On the top of the envelope containing the application form, the words, "APPLICATION FOR MPH (FE) 2009" must be written.

Graduate (3 years degree course) in any subject of Humanities or Sciences (those appearing in 3rd year final exam may also apply). The student must be graduate from an Indian or recognised foreign university or has passed an examination recognised as equivalent to a degree: and possesses such other qualifications as may be prescribed by the Academic Council of the Institute from time to time.

All the students who are keen to seek admission to Master in Archaeology and Heritage Management (MAHM) and Master in Conservation, Preservation and Heritage Management (MCPHM) course and meeting the eligibility criteria (see para 4.1) must appear in the Entrance Test and Group Discussion which will be conducted by Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management on specified date.
