The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) invites applications for its XVIIIth two-year Post Graduate Programme in Communication (PGDPC). This is a dual qualification program awarding both the PGDPC and MMC (Masters in Mass Communication) from Guru Jambheshwar University (UGC and AICTE approved).

The DSC programme is a broad based course covering Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, and Event Management. DSC was started by a group of industry leaders and academicians in 1995, who felt a need to better align academics with industry requirements. Work exposure via internships is therefore is an integral part of the programme.

Application for admission must be made in the prescribed form only. Entrance Examination

Ranking of Candidates

A merit list will be drawn based on the marks (rounded off to three decimal places) obtained by the candidates out of 200 (100 for qualifying examination and 100 for Association Entrance Test) marks.

Selection Procedure for Admission

The Selection of candidates for admission to the M.B.,B.S., course will be based on the merit list thus prepared by the Association. The admission of the candidates will be provisional subject to the recognition of their qualifying examination by the Pondicherry University.

The selection for admission to 3 - year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Degree course at T. S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 4-year B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, Kolkata Campus & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, Chennai Campus; 3-year B.Sc. (Maritime Science) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Mumbai, Mumbai Campus and 4 year B. Tech. (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) Degree course at Visakhapatnam Campus for the session commencing in August 2012 will be made through the Joint Entrance Examination 2012 conducted by IITs on 08.04.2012. There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above institutes/courses for filling up the following number of seats and only those candidates whose names appear in the IIT-JEE-2012 Rank Lists will be called for counselling in order of merit, in the month of July/August 2012. Reservation of Seats: 15% are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates & 27% are reserved for OBC candidates belonging to non-creamy layer.

Academic Qualification: 1. A candidate must have passed (10 + 2) Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.

2. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks and SC&ST candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the (10+2) Examination.

Such downloaded application forms are to be submitted along with the DD of Rs.1000/‐ (General / OBC Category) and Rs.600/‐ (SC/ST Category) drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus payable at Mumbai.

Special Information: The sale of application form commences at the above centres from 20.02.2012 and the application form duly filled in should be submitted to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 on or before 24.04.2012. The counselling will be conducted in the month of July/August 2012 on the basis of the merit of the candidate in IIT-JEE – 2012 . The courses will commence in mid August, 2012.


For candidates joining B. Tech. (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) degree course, the physical standards are as required for regular engineering students.

For other candidates, details of the medical standards are available in the information brochure. However, the candidates should note that, for joining B. Sc. (Nautical Science) degree course & B. Sc. (Maritime Science) degree course, normal vision of 6/6 is essential for each eye separately and those wearing glasses will not be eligible for admission. Whereas in the case of joining B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) degree course, glasses will be allowed up to plus or minus 2.5.Un-aided vision should be 6/12 in both eyes minimum or 6/9 in the good eye and 6/12 in the other eye at least. Defective colour vision is a disqualification for B. Sc. (Nautical Science) degree course, B. Sc. (Maritime Science) degree course & B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) degree course.
Candidates should be mentally & physically fit for sea life. On successful completion of the above courses, the cadets will be eligible to join the Merchant Navy both in India and abroad, with attractive salaries and exciting career prospects.

General information:
IMU, Visakhapatnam Campus, prepares students for Design and Construction of Marine Crafts & Structures. The graduate students will find employment in Shipping, Shipbuilding, Ocean Engineering Industries, Indian Navy, DRDO, Classification Societies etc.

T. S. Chanakya prepares cadets to become the Navigating Officers, MERI-Kolkata and NMA-Chennai the Marine Engineers and MERI-Mumbai the Polyvalent Officers. The highest position that a navigating officer can expect to attain on board a merchant ship is that of a Master of the Ship (Captain), Marine Engineer to that of a Chief Engineer of the ship and in case of Polyvalent Officer to that of a Master/Chief Engineer of the ship.

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D Programme in various disciplines of Engineering, Management, Education, Medicine & Para Medical Health Sciences, Law & legal Studies, Humanities & Social Sciences and Applied Sciences in University School of Studies (USS) and Approved Research Centres (ARC).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
An applicant possessing any one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission to a Ph.D. programme of the University.
(i) A Master's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Humanities/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Medicine/ Law/ Education/ Pharmacy/ Management/ of a recognized Indian University, or a post graduate degree approved by Association of Indian Universities/AICTE/ UGC/ MCI/ Bar Council/ Pharmacy Council, or any other equivalent qualification to the satisfaction of Academic Council of the University duly approved by equivalence committee of the University, in the relevant field, with not less than 60% marks in aggregate.
(ii)(a) Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with either 75% or more marks in aggregate and a minimum of three years, or 60% or more marks in aggregate and a minimum of fifteen years, relevant experience in recognized Institute/ University/ Industry/ Government Organization, may be considered eligible for admission, on the recommendation of SRC and approval by BOS.
(ii)(b) Applicants with MBBS Degree (approved by MCI) with either 60% or more marks in aggregate and a minimum of three years or 50% or more marks in aggregate and a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in Recognized Govt. Hospital/ Organization may be considered eligible for admission on the recommendation of SRC and approval by the BOS.
(iii) For applicants belonging to SC/ST category and/or physically handicapped applicants, a relaxation of 5% in marks shall be admissible under eligibility conditions.
(iv) Teachers working in any University or its affiliated colleges and having a teaching/research/other relevant experience of not less than 3 years may be allowed a relaxation of 5% marks under clause (i).
Provided that out of the two relaxations stipulated under clauses (iii) and (iv), only one relaxation is permissible for an applicant.
(v) Perspective Research Candidate generally shall not have completed an age of 55 years at the time of submission of application for registration for Ph.D. A relaxation in the prescribed age beyond 55 years can, however be recommended by the SRC/BOS recording appropriate justification for the approval by the Vice-Chancellor

SELECTION PROCEDURE:-
All the applicants shall have to appear for Research Aptitude Test (RAT) except Foreign Nationals. Candidates shall be provisionally registered if they are selected through the entrance test RAT conducted by the G.G.S. Tndraprastha University and thereafter Interview shall be conducted.
