Certificate Program in Management of Software Development - IIM Calcutta: Executive Management Programs- Enrollment January 2008

This is aunique program from IIM Calcutta comprehensively covers principles and practices to equip IT professionals to become managers and leaders of Software Development. It treats software development processes as an economic and business operation where various functional disciplines of management come into play, with appropriate customization for the IT context. Software Development Processes are considered from the project management dimension (process dynamics, effort estimation, resource optimization & quantitative techniques), from the business dimension (software economics, project accounting,percentage accounting methods,project risk management), from the quality dimension(quality principles & SEI-CMM,PCMM,CMMi), the people dimension (team management, performance assessment, management of self), and from an integrative dimension (business opportunities & risk ). The program blends theoretical principles with case studies, experience-sharing and best practices.

Who is eligible to Attend?
IT professionals leading or managing software projects or facilities at any level, or likely to do so shortly, will find this program useful. The program is particularly relevant for those who are recent Project Managers or first-time team leaders, and for those aspiring for managerial and business development roles in an IT Services organization. Two years’ relevant work experience is a prerequisite. Working executives who are graduates (10+2+3 or equivalent) in any discipline with minimum 50% marks with a experience profile of at least 2 years after graduation are eligible for the program. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Program Aptitude Test to be conducted by NIIT Imperia, together with the assessment of background and motivation based on the application form submitted.

Common Application and Selection Process: There is a Common Application and Selection Process for students applying for any number of Programs. All candidates need to complete the Common Application Form (CAF) as the first step in the admission process.
Fees & Payment Schedule:
Program Fees: Rs 1,29,000/-inclusive of all taxes. The fees above are inclusive of all academic charges, including initial services, examinations, text-books and study material. However, these do NOT include boarding, lodging and travel expenses to be incurred during the campus visit. Travel arrangements for campus visit have to be made by students themselves; boarding & lodging is arranged by the Institute, at a payment of usually about Rs 1500/- per day. All fees are non-refundable. Payments are to be made to NIIT Imperia by cash, cheque, demand draft, debit/credit card, ECS or EFT. Details are available at the centres or on the website.
