MBA (FAMILY BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP)

The Institute of Management (formerly known as Nirma Institute of Management), is a constituent Institute of Nirma University of Science and Technology – a statutory University established under the Gujarat State Legislative Act. The MBA (Family Business and Entrepreneurship) is a Two-Year full-time programme, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), designed to meet the career requirements of young men and women hailing form business families.

Eligibiltiy: A three-year bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any disciline form a staturoty university. Candidates appearing in the final examination of a bachelor’s degree can also apply. In addition, the applicants should also belong to a business family.

Ph.D. PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT ( Full-Time)
The Institute also invites appliation for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Manaement (Full-Time). Full-Time doctoral students will be provded stipend of Rs.8000/- in the first and second year and Rs.9000/- for the remaining periods.

Eligibility: A master’s degree or equivalent (such as PGDM) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA on a certain grading system. Candidates appearing for final examination of the qualifying degree can also apply.

Admision Procedure: The admission procedure for the above programmes includes a written test that will be conducted by the Institute at Ahmedabad, Delhi and Mumbai on May 03, 2008. The shortlised candidates will be invited for perisnal interview/group discussion at Ahmedabad.

Ph.D. PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (External)

Eligibility :
(a) A Master's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade recognized by the Nirma University of Science and Technology. In addition, the candidate should have at least three years full-time teaching experience in management or related discipline or five years of relevant industrial work experience at managerial level.

(b) Notwithstanding anything contained above, the Director (NU) may make relaxation in the above criteria in individual case based on the genuineness and the merit of the case.

Procedure for Registration
The candidates who intend to register for the study will have to apply in the prescribed proforma along with a preliminary research proposal on which they intend to work. Candidates can download the prescribed proforma from the www.imnu.ac.in website.

Selection Process:
The said applications with the proposal will be submitted before a committee consisting of the Dean of the Faculty of Doctoral Studies and Research, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, DPM Chairperson, the Faculty Guide and one faculty from the area in which the research scholar is interested to pursue his research work. On the recommendations of this Committee the candidates will be registered for the Doctoral Programme in Management
