(a) Division of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) : Bipolar and CMOS Analog VLSI circuits, Current mode Analog Signal Processing, Low-voltage Low-power analog design, Switched-capacitor/ Switched Current Circuits, Statistical Signal Processing, DSP, Digital Communication, Optical networks, Optical communication, Wireless Communication.


(b) Division of Computer Engineering & Division of Information Technology (COE & IT) : Reconfigurable Computing and FPGA, Software Engineering, Information System, Real Time Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Image Processing, Computer Networking, Mobile computing, Hardware Software Code sign, Sensor Network, Video modeling & processing, Text Classification.

(c) Division of Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) : Industrial Electronics and industrial drives, Instrumentation including Biomedical and intelligent instrumentation, Process Control and Mechatronics, Networking and Distributed Computer Control System. Intelligent Control, optimal control.

(d) Division of Manufacturing Processes and Automation Engineering (MPAE) : Manufacturing Processes, Manufacturing Automation, Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Industrial Management. Engineering Management, Nano Manufacturing & Nano Mechanics.

(e) School of Applied Sciences (SAS) : Mathematics: Approximation Theory, Fluid dynamics, Biomechanics, Linear and Nonlinear waves, Cosmology, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Complex analysis.

Physics: Material Science, Elastic Dielectrics, Nano metric dielectrics, Electro-mechanic transducers/sensors.
Solar Energy (Heat Transfer) & Energy Engineering.

Eligibility Conditions
Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology (For ECE, COE, ICE, MPAE) and Masters Degree in Science or Equivalent in relevant area of Applied Sciences with a consistently good academic record, (Securing 70% or more marks in aggregate).

Candidates selected for admission to the Ph.D. Programme will have to subsequently apply to the University of Delhi for Ph.D. registration as per Delhi University Rules.
Candidate applying for Ph.D. programme must ensure that their final result are declared on the last date of submission of application.

Financial Assistantship to Ph.D. Scholars
The institute aims at identifying suitable candidates having keen interest in teaching and research who would like to take up a career in Academics. In line with this objective, therefore, a scheme. “Teaching-cum-Research-fellowship” has been introduced. Exceptionally brilliant candidates having keen interests in an academic career, shall be considered for this fellowship.

An amount of Rs.15000/- P.M. (likely to be revised) is being paid under “Teaching-Cum-Research-Fellowship”. Successful candidates, on completion of Ph.D. under the scheme, stand good chance of being considered for absorption as faculty in this institute through proper Selection Committee.

A scheme also exists for the award of Research Assistantship for providing financial assistance to the students. In terms of this scheme, the student who is not found suitable for TRF but found suitable for research can be considered to Ph.D. Degree programme as research fellow with stipend/fellowship as per rule.

Selected candidates shall be required to deposit institute fee and other charges immediately at the time of registration for which he/she will be intimated before the date of registration well-before-the time. The amount payable by him/her will be in DD/cash as per rule.

No TA/DA will be admissible to the applicants called for written Test/Interview.
