About College: The University of Mumbai (known earlier as University of Bombay) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India. It was established in 1857 consequent upon "Wood's Education Dispatch", and it is one amongst the first three Universities in India. It is now granted a Five Star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has two campuses of area 230 acres and 13 acres, with 1.25 million square feet of built-up area, 22 thousand sq. feet of class-rooms and 84 thousand sq feet of laboratory space. It has two post-graduate centers, 354 affiliated colleges and 36 Departments. It has established its name in industrial collaborations and runs various professional courses.

Eligibility: A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) must have passed a Bachelor's degree examination of this University or a corresponding degree examination of any other University recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate at the Bachelor's degree examination and must have offered subjects relating to secondary/Higher Secondary level as per the requirements laid down by the State Government in that regard. Relaxation of the minimum percentage of marks at the Bachelor's degree examination for candidates from Reserved Categories and serving teachers will be as per State Government rules made from time to time in that respect.In addition the candidate must have subsequent to his passing the Bachelor's degree examination.Kept two terms for the full-time B.Ed. and four terms for part-time B.Ed. course seperated ovr a maximum period of two and four consecutive years respectively in a college of education.
