Banaras Hindu University, Faculty of Management Studies announces admission to the following Two Year Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration

MBA– with specialization in Marketing / HRD / Finance
MIBA - with specialization in International Business

Eligibility:
Candidates should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern/ a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law/ a post graduate degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE. For SC/ST candidates, 45% marks is required. (Candidates should also fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for appearing in CAT 2009)

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by October 05, 2010 after completing all the requirements for obtaining the qualifying degree before June 30, 2009.


RESERVATION : SC: 15%; ST: 7.5%; PD: 3% and OBC : 27%


Application Procedure
Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to FMS-BHU will be required to purchase CAT 2009 (conducted by IIMs). For detailed information about CAT 2009, please visit www.catiim.in Selection will be made strictly on the basis of the combined Merit acquired by a Candidate in CAT 2009 of IIM, Group Discussion and Interview conducted by FMS, BHU.

The FMS, BHU uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post-Graduate Programmes in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Step 2: Candidates are also required to register at FMS, BHU through separate application form which has to be obtained from Faculty of Management Studies, BHU, Varanasi from September 10, 2009 either in person against crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) /Banker's Cheque of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST) till November 24, 2009 OR by post through a requisition along with Crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) of Rs. 1050/- (Rs. 700/- for SC/ST) and self-addressed envelope of 32x26 cm. till November 5, 2009 OR may be downloaded from the web site of BHU

(www.bhu.ac.in). The downloaded application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST Category). The Bank Draft/Banker's Cheque should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at SBI, BHU Main Branch (Code 0211). Completed application form be submitted to "The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi - 221005' on or before November 25, 2009.

Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) ADMISSIONS 2009-2010

The Banaras Hindu University has invited applications for admission to the programmes leading to Doctor of Philosophy/Vidyavaridhi Degree (PhD) in various disciplines. Admission to certain programmes will be through the Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) and to certain others, directly (CRET exempted categories). Candidates of CRET as well as CRET-exempted categories are required to submit their applications.
The Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) will be held at Varanasi from 9 a.m to 11 a.m on 12.07.2009 (Sunday). The faculty and main disciplines in which CRET will be held are as follows:

Admission to Ph.D Programme in the main disciplines marked with (*), during 2009-10 session, shall be from CRET exempted categories only.

Admission to following disciplines shall be open only to those students who have qualified GATE and possess valid GATE Score card or they are NET-Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/ NET-Lecturer Ship (LS) qualified. Thus no CRET shall be conducted for admission to following disciplines.

Engineering & Technology: (Disciplines in which admission will be through NET-JRF/ NET-LS /GATE only) : Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Management, Materials Science & Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Systems Engineering.

To provide an opportunity for inter-disciplinary research, a candidate has an option to be admitted to an allied discipline by appearing in the CRET of related main discipline. Details about Main Discipline - Allied Discipline Combinations are given in Part B of the Information Bulletin.

The details about all the Programmes are available in the Information Bulletin which can be downloaded from www.bhu.ac.in. Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination may also apply but results should be declared before the start of counseling date. Reservations will be as per Government of India rules.

Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained only from the Entrance Test Cell, Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi - 221 005, from 11 am to 3 pm on working days on cash payment of Rs.50/-. The last date for sale of application forms from the office counter is 20.06.2009

They can be obtained by registered post by sending (i) a Crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque for Rs.100/-, of any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, drawn in favour of the Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University, payable at Varanasi (ii) a self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size 32cm x 26cm and (iii) a written request mentioning the Name and Postal address of the Applicant and details of Crossed MICR Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque. The last date for receipt of requisition for sending the application forms by Registered Post is 08.06.2009.

Application processing/test fee shall be payable along with the filled up application form as per details in the Information Bulletin. Foreign Nationals are exempted from appearing in CRET. They may contact the International Centre, C/3/3, Tagore House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005, for further details.

The Banaras Hindu University will hold an all India written entrance test for admission to Ayurveda vachaspati(MD(Ay)
Ayurveda Dhanwantri (MS(Ay) course (in the subjects-kayachiktsa,(prasuti Tantra & stree Roga, shalya tantra, sangyaharan, Kaumarbhritya-Balroga, shalakya tantra-Netra roga, dravyaguna vigyan, rasa shastra, swasthbrita, sharirkriya, Ayurveda sidhanta, ayurveda samhita, sharer rachana, roga nidana evam vikriti vigyana) on Sunday the 21st June 2009 on its campus.

Eligibility:
Qualification (a) BAMS recognized by CCIM (b) MBBS recognized by MCI (for supernumerary category only) (c) The candidate must have completed 12 months rotating internship (4.5 years BAMS course)/ 6 months rotating internship (5 years BAMS course) by 31.07.2009.
AGE-the upper age limit for admission will be 35 years for General and OBC Category and 40 years for SC/ST on 31.07.2009.

There is no age limit for sponsored category. Application form along with information brochure can either be downloaded from website www.bhu.ac.in and www.imsbhu.nic.in

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course (55 seats) in TWO stages: PMT/PAT-2008 SCREENING and PMT-2008 MAIN, and to B. Pharm. course (25 seats) in ONE stage: PMT/PAT-2008 Screening. PMT/PAT-2008 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 7th May 2008 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-2008 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 15th June 2008 at Varanasi Centre only. For B. Pharm. course, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT/PAT-2008 SCREENING.
ELIGIBILITY : QUALIFICATIONS - Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.
DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS: M.B.B.S.: General – 40; SC – 9; ST – 4; Physically disabled (PD) – 2; B.Pharm.: As per Government of India Reservation Policy.
AGE: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2008 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1992 and on or before 31st December, 1983 need not apply).

BY POSTAL CHANNEL : From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1060/- (Rs. 660/- for SC/ST candidates) of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU” payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post. However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate’s name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size MUST also accompany it. The ENVELOP containing requisition for PMT/PAT application form should be super scribed “Request for Application for PMT/PAT-2008, BHU”. Last date of requisition for PMT/PAT form by post is Wednesday, the 20th February 2008. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/ without Bank Code No. & Seal) shall not be accepted. NOTE: (a) Separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form. (b) M.O./I.P.O./Cheques shall NOT be accepted under any circumstances.
