The Dayalbagh Educational Institute is a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 as per Notification No. F.9-3/78-U-3 dated 16.5.1981 issued by the then Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India. · ++Candidates applying for M.Com. or M.Sc. (Home Science) or M.Sc. (Physics) are required to fill up one application form only indicating preference of specialisation, if they desire.

NOTE: 1. Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST applicants for all courses of studies.

(Electronics), Dipl. in Polytechnics (Textile Designing/Interior Designing & Decoration/Garment Technology/Home Science/ Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice) and PhD in the above postgraduate courses. (b) At present, courses open for admission for male candidates: BCom, BSc, BBM, BSc (Engg.), BEd, MEd, MCom, MBA, MTech, MSc, MPhil (Theology), MPhil (Education), PGDT, PGDCSA, PGDIM, Dipl. in Engg. (Auto/Electrical/Electronics/ Mechanical), Diploma in Polytechnics (Leather Technology Footwear), Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice and PhD in the above postgraduate courses.
4. Admissions are made on the basis of academic merit, written test and personal interview for all courses except M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., M.Sc. (Home Science), M.A. (Social Science) in Psychology, MPhil (Theology), PGDT and PGDDFM where admissions are made on the basis of academic merit and personal interview only.
5. Written test is not an entrance examination open to all candidates who apply, but it is a part of selection procedure. Only a limited number of candidates will be called for written test on the basis of marks obtained in various prequalifying and qualifying examinations/qualifying examination. Normally such lists are ready by 10th to 15th July of the session and are displayed on the notice board of the concerned Faculty/College. Call letters for written test/interview are sent under postal certificate.
6. Prospectus containing details of courses and admission procedure, Application Form and Syllabus for courses, where written test is prescribed, can be obtained from the Institute’s counter or by post by sending ‘Account Payee’ bank draft in favour of DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE payable at any bank at Agra along with an address chit of 8x4 cms. size as follows:

Except for Ph.D., the last date for submission of completed applications in the office of the Registrar shall be June 30, 2008. In case of B.A./ B.A. (Social Science)/ B.Sc. (Home Science)/ B.Com./ B.Sc./ B.B.M./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ and Courses as at S.Nos. 27 to 30, the last date will be 10th day after declaration of result of Intermediate Examination (High School examination, where specified) of the U.P. Board for regular candidates or June 30, 2008, whichever is later. For Ph.D., the last date will be 1st September or 1st March every year. Limited seats in hostels both for male and female students are available separately.

APPLICATION COST:
1. Rs.100/- (Free for SC/ST/PH) for All PG Courses
2. Rs.200/- (Free for SC/ST/PH) for All M.Phil Courses
3. Rs.350/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PH) for M.B.A., M.C.A., and M.Tech., Courses
4. Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PH) for M.Ed. Courses respectively in the form of Demand Draft drawn in any nationalized bank in favour of The Registrar, Periyar University, Payable at Salem. Other modes of payment are strictly not allowed. The SC/ST/ Physically Challenged candidates are eligible to get one application form free of cost on the production of relevant certificates. A self addressed stamped envelope for Rs.40/- of size 28x13cms has to be enclosed to get the application by post. Separate request has to be made for each programme. The envelope requesting application form may be subscribed Request for application form for admission.

MODE OF SELECTION:
For MA, M.Sc., M.Com.: Selection will be based on the entrance examination to be held during the first week of June 2008 in the University campus. Candidates appearing for final semester/year examinations may also apply but they shall satisfy the eligibility conditions for admission at the time of joining.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
For M.B.A. Eligibility: Any Graduate with 50% of marks.
Admission: Through MAT/CAT/TANCET scores, group discussion and personal Interview.

For M.C.A. Eligibility: Candidates who have secured 55% of marks or above in any one of the following or equivalent, are eligibility to apply.
(i) Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Mathematics at +2 level (or) (ii) Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the allied courses.
Admission: Through TANCET-2008 score and academic score in UG programme.

For M.Tech. exploration geology and Geoinformatics: Eligibility: M.Sc. Degree in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Geosciences/ Geophysics/ Marine Geology/ Earth Science.
Admission : Based on Academic performance and if necessary entrance test will be conducted. Last date for submission of applications within 20 days form the publication of UG results.

For. M.Sc. Earth Science (5 year Integrated course) Eligibility: 10+2 conducted by Govt. of Tamil Nadu or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
Admission: Based on +2 marks and if necessary entrance test will be conducted. Last date for submission of applications within 20 days from the +2 Result by Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
