The Dayalbagh Educational Institute is a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 as per Notification No. F.9-3/78-U-3 dated 16.5.1981 issued by the then Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India. 4. Admissions are made on the basis of academic merit, written test and personal interview for all courses except M.A., M.Com., M.Sc., M.Sc. (Home Science), M.A. (Social Science) in Psychology, MPhil (Theology), PGDT and PGDDFM where admissions are made on the basis of academic merit and personal interview only.
5. Written test is not an entrance examination open to all candidates who apply, but it is a part of selection procedure. Only a limited number of candidates will be called for written test on the basis of marks obtained in various prequalifying and qualifying examinations/qualifying examination. Normally such lists are ready by 10th to 15th July of the session and are displayed on the notice board of the concerned Faculty/College. Call letters for written test/interview are sent under postal certificate.
6. Prospectus containing details of courses and admission procedure, Application Form and Syllabus for courses, where written test is prescribed, can be obtained from the Institute’s counter or by post by sending ‘Account Payee’ bank draft in favour of DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE payable at any bank at Agra along with an address chit of 8x4 cms. size as follows:

Except for Ph.D., the last date for submission of completed applications in the office of the Registrar shall be June 30, 2008. In case of B.A./ B.A. (Social Science)/ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ and Courses as at S.Nos. 27 to 30, the last date will be 10th day after declaration of result of Intermediate Examination (High School examination, where specified) of the U.P. Board for regular candidates or June 30, 2008, whichever is later. For Ph.D., the last date will be 1st September or 1st March every year. Limited seats in hostels both for male and female students are available separately.

(c) Minimal Qualification: B.Sc. with Physics/Electronics/Computer Science with minimum Second Class in the qualifying examination or Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Computer (Approved by Board of Technical Education) or PUC with 3 years Experience as EEG Technician.

2. Certificate Course in Neuroimaging & Technology (CNT)
(a) No. of Seats: 2 (**for sponsored only)
(b) Duration: 1 Year
(c) Minimal Qualification: Diploma in Radiographic Technology from Vocational Board of Government of Karnataka or equivalent qualification or Bachelors degree in Radiation Technology from any recognized University or equivalent qualification.
**Sponsored candidates means sponsored by the State/Central Government or Public Sector Undertaking of State/Central Government.

Common for all Courses: The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University. For medical qualification, the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.

F) GUIDELINES:
In respect of Medical Courses, the candidates should have completed one-year internship and registration with State Medical Council on or before 31st July 2008 (proof of completion from competent authority to be produced at the time of joining, failing which admission will be cancelled).

G) FEES/EMOLUMENTS/RESERVATION OF SEATS:

H) RESERVATION OF SEATS:
In respect of B.Sc. courses and Diploma in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (DCNT), 15% seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% seats are reserved for ST Candidates.

Application forms and Prospectus can be downloaded from our website and can also be obtained from the Director, NIMHANS on request by mentioning the course and enclosing a Demand Draft towards application fee* drawn in favour of the Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore-560029, along with a self addressed stamped envelope (30cm x 25cm) affixing stamp worth Rs.20/-

Application fee: Rs.500/- (non-refundable) and (Rs.400/- (non-refundable) in case of SC/ST candidates)
Registration fee: Rs.500/- per course and (Rs.400/- (non-refundable) in case of SC/ST candidates)
B.Sc./Diploma Courses: Rs.500/- (non-refundable) and (Rs.400/- (non-refundable) in case of SC/ST candidates)

3. Candidates may apply for more than one course provided they are eligible.
4. Candidates can apply in the same application (Medical Application) form for all Superspeciality/Post Doctoral Fellowship courses. Candidates applying for B.Sc. and Diploma Courses should apply on separate application (Non Medical) form for each course.
5. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates.
6. Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the Common Entrance Test.
7. AGE LIMIT: For superspeciality Courses age should not be more than 32 years for MBBS degree holders and 35 for PG medical degree holders, relaxable in case of SC/ST Candidates by a maximum of 5 years as on 1.8.2008. For sponsored candidates age should not be more than 40 years as on 1.8.2008.
For B.Sc. courses, age should not be less than 17 years as on 1.8.2008 and should not have completed 25 years as on 1.8.2008
8. Duly filled in application should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore – 560 029 along with a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIMHANS by superscribing the name of the course applied for on the Envolope without fail.
9. Applications down loaded from the Website should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (Non refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST) towards application fee and Registration fee as indicated as above in case of Superspeciality/Post Doctoral Fellowship courses. There is no registration fee for B.Sc. and Diploma courses.

Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST category. Non Medical courses: Qualifying exam mark sheets, Certificate, Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST category and experience certificate if applicable). Applications without Demand Draft or insufficient Demand Draft will be rejected. The Demand Draft or application of the rejected candidates will not be returned at any cost. No communication will be given against the rejected applications. Demand Draft or enclosures sent subsequently will not be considered. Applications will strictly not be received after 5th April 2008. No interim enquiry or correspondence will be entertained. The applications should be downloaded on A4 size paper only and SHOULD NOT BE FOLDED. Candidates called for Entrance Test and Counseling must be present at the venue within the stipulated time failing which they will not be considered for Entrance Test or Counseling at any cost.

Eligible candidates for Entrance Test will be intimated by post and institute will not take any responsibility for non-receipt of the call letters. List of qualified candidates for counseling will be notified on the Institute’s Notice Board and Website. No separate individual intimation will be given. The decision of the Director in all matters regarding selection will be final and no representation in any form will be entertained.
