Admissions 2008 Procedure (Media)
Eligibility: The minimum eligibility for admission to the Post-Graduate Programme in Media is a three-year Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized University.Candidates appearing for final Bachelor's degree examinations can also apply, provided they complete all degree requirements by September 30, 2007.
Selection Procedure: Candidates who wish to apply for the programme in Media are required to take Autonomous Entrance Test of ISB&M scheduled on February 3, 2008. Short-listed candidates will be called for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.
Procedure for applying to ISB&M: Candidates who wish to obtain the ISB&M Prospectus by courier/post should make a Demand Draft of Rs. 850/- in favour of "International School of Business and Media" payable at Pune and send it to any of the four campuses or by paying Rs. 800/- at the institute counter. Candidates can also apply online by visiting the institute website.Prospectus are Available locations you can refer from this institute's website.
Online Registration: The applicant has to log on to the website: www.isbm.ac.in and go to Apply Online. The applicant has to fill in his/her personal information, give the payment particulars of demand draft number and date and submit the form online.
The applicant will proceed to take the printout of ISB&M Application Form, fill in all the necessary details, paste his/her recent photograph and sign across the photograph. The applicant has to enclose the Draft of Rs. 850/- in favour of 'International School of Business and Media' payable at Pune and send it to Pune alongwith the Application Form by courier /registered post/speed post to ISB&M or by paying Rs. 800/- at the institute counter. Cheques will not be accepted. Once the Admissions Office receives the DD the ISB&M Prospectus will be sent to the applicant by courier/post immediately.
The application form and prospectus will be issued only in the name of the applicant who wishes to apply. The form is not transferable.
ISB&M Autonomous Test: The ISB&M Autonomous Test will be conducted in 27 cities on February 3, 2008.(Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi and Varanasi) Test Timings: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Group Discussion / personal Interview:Group Discussion/Personal Interview will be conducted in Bangalore, Chennai, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune and Varanasi. ISB&M will not be responsible for delay in receipt of letter sent by courier / post.
Fee Structure: Rs. 2,00,000/- per year. The fee is only a course fee and does not include hostel fee and expenses for living. Rules for Cancellation of Admission: For cancellation of admission within 2 weeks from the last date of payment of first installment of fees, Rs.1,000/- will be deducted. The Academy has instituted one Merit Scholarship in each course with at least 25 enrolments at all Centres to the enrollee who registers the best performance through all pertinent admission tests and the interview, subject to minimum requirements of performance. The Scholarship waives payment of tuition fee only. The waiver is granted in the first year, and carries on in the second year on condition that the awardee’s academic performance in the first year meets the prescribed standards of achievement.In the event the waiver is withdrawn in the second year, tuition fee becomes payable; however, the Academy will facilitate the student an educational loan from Punjab National Bank at a modest interest rate and comfortable repayment period. Such facilitation is also available to the awardees in the first year to cover other payablefees/charges, should it be so desired.Industry ScholarshipsThere are a few scholarships sponsored by reputed companies (top left) for meritorious, financially deserving students. TESTS FOR FM, GM, FR, FMG
Candidates answer a 60 minute General Proficiency Test (GPT) in English language to demonstrate their proficiency in language (comprehension, vocabulary, expression), mathematics (10th standard), logic, etc. Candidates who answered any AIMA-MAT tests held in the twelve months prior to the date of the Academy’s entrance exam (seeinstructions in accompanying Declaration Form) and had scored at least 500 will not have to appear in the GPT. Successful candidates from the GPT and eligible AIMA-MAT scorers will be called for further screening consisting of group discussion and individual interview.
TESTS FOR FDIW, TDHF
Candidates answer the same General Proficiency Test (GPT) as above. AIMA-MAT participants with qualifiers as above will be exempted from taking the GPT. However, all candidates have to appear in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which examines a candidate for aptitude in perception, illustration, drawing, visualization, colour sense, etc. Successful candidates from GPT/AIMA-MAT and DAT will be called for Situation Test and interview. The Situation Test is a group activity in which you will have to collaborate with other candidates to implement a design brief with provided materials within a stipulated duration of time.

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), BhubaneswarNISER has been set up by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India starting from academic year 2007-08 to imparthigh-quality science education in a vibrant academic ambience, with a faculty of distinguished teachers and scientists. NISER offers a 5-year integrated M.Sc. Programme
in basic sciences after 10+2 (or equivalent) schooling. The institute has four major schools--in mathematical, physical, chemical and biological sciences. At present, NISER functions from the beautiful campus of the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, a renowned institute with state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes an excellent library, a large computer centre and several research laboratories. Degrees at NISER will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed-to-be University within the Department of Atomic Energy.

UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai
The Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and University of Mumbai, have set up in Mumbai a new autonomous Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences from the academic year 2007-08, that offers a 5-year M.Sc. (Integrated) programme in the basic sciences. UM-DAE CBS, Mumbai is to be an international class centre for high quality teaching embedded in a vibrant postgraduate and research environment, with some of the best teachers and scientists from major institutes in the city (TIFR, BARC, IIT Bombay) and the University on its faculty. The Centre is located in the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai. Degrees at UM-DAE CBS will be awarded by the 150 year old University of Mumbai.Tentatively, there will be 20 seats (in Physics and Life Sciences streams only) with reservations as per Government norms, including reservation for Persons with Disability (PD). Both the institutes are residential campuses, with suitable accommodation and boarding facilities. The academic programmes of both institutes have a balanced semester-based course structure with continuous assessment within a flexible, seamless curriculum that emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of science in the 21st century and vigorously seeks to inculcate the notions of exploration, innovation and research so as to develop a pool of talented and motivated scientific personnel for the national programmes pursued by the Department of Atomic Energy. Candidates may apply for either NISER, or CBS, or for both. Selected candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs.3000/- and an annual contingency grant.
Eligibility for admission: (i) Qualification: 60% marks for general category (55% for reserved categories and PD candidates) in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in Class XII (or
equivalent) examination, from any recognized Board in India. Students who have passed the qualifying examination in 2007 or are appearing in 2008 are eligible to apply. Where only Letter grade is available, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate the decision of the respective admission committees will be final. (ii) Age Limit: Candidates born on or after 01 Oct. 1983 are eligible to apply, relaxable by 5 years for reserved categories and PD candidates.Admission Procedure: A National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) will be conducted at a number of centres in India on Sunday, 20 April 2008 by the NEST cell at UM-DAE, CBS, Mumbai. National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is compulsory for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) at Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS) at Mumbai.The Information Brochures of NISER and UM-DAE CBS provide details of appearing for NEST.
Schedule of the Test: SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2008. (1.00 pm to 4.00 pm)
Pattern of Question Paper
The question paper will comprise five sections: (1) General (compulsory), (2) Mathematics, (3) Physics, (4) Chemistry and (5) Biology. Of sections (2-5), which will carry equal weightage of marks (30% each), any three will have to be selected. The General section will carry 10% of weightage. All questions will be of objective type, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine gradable sheet using HB pencils only. Questions will aim to test the comprehension and analytical ability of the candidates. Incorrect answers may be awarded negative marks. No student will be allowed to retain the question paper. Every student must return the question paper together with the answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving the
examination hall. Language of Question PaperFor NEST 2008 the language of question paper will be English only.
General instructions for examinationStudents must reach the examination centre 30 minutes before the time of the test. They will not be permitted to leave the examination hall until one hour after the test begins.Use of log tables and calculators will not be permitted in NEST 2008.

Admit Card for NEST 2008
In addition to filling up Application Form (A), the candidate must fill up Admit Card (B), paste his/her recent photograph on it and write clearly his/her full mailing address in
capital letters including the pin code. It is the candidate’s responsibility to carefully check the address he/she has written on Admit Card (B). After receiving Application Form (A) and Admit Card (B) together with the required application fee from eligible candidates, the Chief Coordinator will allot a suitable examination centre, sign on the Admit Card (B) and mail it back to the candidate’s mailing address. This MBA programme is sponsored by Ministry of HRD. It offers dual specialization in Marketing, Finance, Systems,Human Resources and Operations. The two year residential programme includes basic core courses, electives and summer internship.
Admission Process: The applicants will be short-listed based on the scores of CAT. The short-listed candidates will be invited to attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. CAT score will be used only for short-listing, IIMs have no role in the selection.
Eligibility: A university degree in any discipline, recognized by AIU, with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.Candidates appearing for final year degree examination in 2008 are also eligible.

The Two-Year MBA Programme:
The programme criss-corsses all academic areas, pools together resources from every functional area adnd drives home the importance of seeing the "Big picture" in business. The students have the opportunity to opt for dual specialization in order to acquire cross-functional knowledge, a must for any budding manager. The courses are disigned so as to expose the students to various theoretical concepts and the best practices of the industry. The functional expertise of the faculty acts as a catalyst. Combing the acumen of a specialist with that of a generalist, the curriculum expowers students with the necessary prerequisites for a successful manager.
The Curriculum
The MBA curricul is reviewed every year for its theoretical intensity and its practical relevance. The two-year full time MBA programme follows a Trimester patter, covering 34 subjects (including 12 electives) and a summer project during the end of he first year. There are five concentration areas in this programme. These are Finance, Inforamtion Systems, Marketing, Production and Operations and Human Resource Management. A Student can opt for a maximum of six electives in any one of these areas out of 12 electives.
About Department of Management Studies (DoMS) of NIT
The Department of Management Studies (DoMS) of NIT had started in 1978 with a ME programme in Management. The MBA programme was started in the year 1982, which had funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The MBA programme of Department of Management Studies of NIT imparts in-depth knowledge in all the cross-functional areas that go towards making a complete manager. MBA Programme: Salient Features
The programme is spread over two years and helps the students to learn the skills necessary for the potential manager through a comprehensive study approach. Due to the increasing importance of computers in today's business, a concerted effort is made throughout the course to incorporate computer orientation in every functional area. Fellowship in Anaesthesia
Ganga hospital, Coimbatore is a 130 bedded specialty centre for Trauma Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Apart from Trauma in which both specialties are interested, the Orthopaedic dept has special interests in Spine surgery and the Plastic surgery department has special interests in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery. Each department on an average operates around 3,500 cases a year. The Department of Anesthesiology has four consultant anesthesiologists and two registrars. The Department of Anesthesiology is starting six month Fellowship Programme in Anesthesia from 1st July 2004. The aim of the Fellowship is to provide training in management of trauma patients, including receiving and transport of polytrauma victims, resuscitation of polytrauma patients, anesthesia for trauma surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, spine surgery and joint replacement surgeries. The trainee will have ample exposure to various regional blocks, central neuraxis blockade, general anesthesia for major polytrauma cases and post operative management of trauma patients including management in the intensive care unit. We are looking for well motivated, hard working young people who have just finished their Anaesthesia training(MD/DA/DNB) enjoy challenging work and are academically oriented for this Fellowship.

1. Duration of fellowship 6 months. 2. Eligibility for the fellowship MD (Anesthesia), DA, DNB (Anesthesia) 3. Stipend Rs.7500 per month.
