The Executive PGDM (with focus on Corporate Finance & Investment Banking) is an AICTE approved 15 months full-time program.

The program has been developed from a seed idea - "To deliver focused and advanced actionable knowledge to professionals form the Finance and Banking sectors, enabling them to perform and compete at the highest levels of the industry". Combining the experience of ITM's highly reputed full-time MBA level programmes, with the expertise and infrastructure provided by ITM, this program delivers a blend of business mangament and financial markets knowledge.

ITM has a Business Simulation Lab (a real-time markets trading room) situated in the BSEL Tech Park (which is a certified IT Park) as a Technical facility. Utilizing such facilities and extensive research and reference libraries, the program provides participants with globally relevant, up-to-date training.

The Curriculum is brought to life by a selection of experienced faculties and markets experts, in highly interactive participant driven sessions. ELIGIBILITY:

5+ years work experience with a provision to accord due weightage/relaxation for the relevant experience/ Professional (or) Post Graduation qualification. Persons who have completed intermediate examination of CA/CS/ICWA/CFA/CAIIB will be given expereince relaxation.

IIT Madras offers Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination 2008.

Details:

* Examination date is Sunday, May 18, 2008 between10 AM - 1 PM

* Sale of application commences on January 28, 2008

* Sale of application ends on March 3, 2008

* Five year integrated master's programme, leading to MA degree in three disciplines - Development Studies, Economics and English Studies.

* One objective type question paper of three hour duration in English and Comprehension Skill, Analytical and Quantitative Ability and General Knowledge covering the areas of Indian Economy (since Independence), Indian Society, Contemporary World Affairs (Post-World War II), and Environment and Ecology. Syllabus for examination is given in the admission brochure.

* Test paper is in English

Eligibility:

* Minimum 60% marks in aggregate [55% for SC/ST and persons with disabilities (PD)] in (10+2) or equivalent examination.

* In case the respective Boards award letter grades, without providing a norm for converting them to equivalent percentage marks, the norms decided by the HSEE Committee shall be final.

* General candidates date of birth cannot be earlier than October 01,1983.

* SC/ST/PD category candidates, date of birth not earlier than October 01,1978.

* 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates with relaxed qualifying norms for admission.

* 3% for physically disabled, including leprosy-cured candidates, who are otherwise fit to pursue the course and who qualify for admission under relaxed norms relevant for this category.

The Two-Year MBA Programme:
The programme criss-corsses all academic areas, pools together resources from every functional area adnd drives home the importance of seeing the "Big picture" in business. The students have the opportunity to opt for dual specialization in order to acquire cross-functional knowledge, a must for any budding manager. The Curriculum
The MBA curricul is reviewed every year for its theoretical intensity and its practical relevance. The two-year full time MBA programme follows a Trimester patter, covering 34 subjects (including 12 electives) and a summer project during the end of he first year. There are five concentration areas in this programme. These are Finance, Inforamtion Systems, Marketing, Production and Operations and Human Resource Management. Selection:

The selection will be purely on merit, based on consistently good academic record and the recommendation letter from a mathematics professor closely acquainted with the candidate. Candidates selected for the programme will be paid sleeper class return train fare by the shortest route and will be provided with free board and lodging for the duration of the course. The list of selected candidates is likely to be announced in the first week of March 2008. Only selected candidates will receive a letter of his/her selection from the director.

The aims of this programme are:

1. To teach mathematics in an interactive way rather than the usual passive presentation. To promote active learning, the teachers usually ask questions and try to develop the theory based on the answers and typical examples. At every level the participants are encouraged to explore, guess and formulate definitions and results.
2. To promote independent thinking in mathematics.
3. To provide a platform for the talented students so that they can interact with their peers and experts in the field. This serves two purposes: (i) the participants come to know where they stand academically and what they have to do to bring out their full potential and (ii) they establish a rapport with other participants and teachers which help them shape their career in mathematics.
The daily programme consists of lectures in the morning (from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.) and problem sessions in the afternoon (from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.) Each level (I and II) has lectures in the four basic streams of Mathematics: Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Topology. Students of Level O are offered courses in Basic Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Geometry (curve tracing, sketching of surfaces, classification of quadric surfaces) and one of Discrete Probability, Combinatorics and Elementary Number theory.
The faculty is from various leading institutions of the country and is not confined to the institute of the venue. People who are experts in the field, who are known for their teaching and who have a commitment towards betterment of mathematics in India are chosen to give the courses. As a rule each course is taught by a single expert. This paves the way for better interaction (over a period of 4 weeks) between the faculty and students and also imparts a perspective of the field among the students. The faculty is requested to be present for all the sessions - not for their sessions only. In the problem sessions all students are asked to do problems. All the four teachers of a level will actively help the students during the problem sessions. The teachers identify the difficulties of the individual students. Giving individual attention is one of the unique features of this programme which makes the programme successful. Some reading material is also provided. There are no tests at the end of the programme as we want to make it clear that the students should learn mathematics for the pleasure of doing it and not for examinations.

The programme is advertised in the newspapers every year sometime in the month of December. For the last several years, we are directly mailing the posters to colleges which offer B.Sc.(Mathematics), universities and institutes.

Teacher Participants

College/University teachers who are interested in personally observing the methodologies of MTTS may apply to the Director of the Programme with a brief Curriculum Vitae. Those selected may visit one of the camps nearer to them for a period of at least one week. The travel by sleeper class and local hospitality will be borne by MTTS. During their stay at the camp, the teachers are expected to attend all the courses of one particular level, and interact with the MTTS faculty and participants so as to exchange their views. They will not be assigned any teaching though they are encouraged to help the participants during problem solving sessions.

Those appearing for their final year Bachelor's degree examination in April / May 2008 may also apply, provided they complete their degree final examination and meet other requirements before the commencement of the course in the first week of June 2008. They should submit degree certificate / provisional pass certificate and marks sheets latest by 31st October 2008.
Selection Process:
1. Appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on 18th November 2007 all over India. Details about the selection process:

Selection for the PhD programme is a two-step process: screening to short-list candidates followed by interview of short-listed candidates.

Screening for Engineering Sciences shall be on the basis of valid GATE-2007/ GATE-2008 score.

Screening for Chemical and Life Sciences shall be on the basis of one of the following: (i) GATE-2007/GATE-2008 score, (ii) Score in the Written Test-2008 of the BARC Training School.

Screening for Physical Sciences shall be on the basis of one of the following:

(i) GATE-2007/GATE-2008 score, (ii) Score in Joint Entrance Screening Tests-2008 (JEST-2008), (iii) Score in the Written Test-2008 of the BARC Training School.
