M.A./ M.Sc. in Computational Finance:
Objectives:
This first of its kind in India. The main objective of this high end two year full time programme is to provide students with the practical skills and theoretical understanding and evaluations of the tools and models used by the ever changing and increasingly complex financial service sectors.

Candidate must have Passed/ Appeared Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics/ Statistics as a core subject.
B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and Computing:
Objective:
This is a 3 year full time rigorous course aimed at those who wish to pursue a career in cutting-edge research in mathematical science and related fields, also provides enough scope for a career in information technology in the industry.
There are a limited number of scholarships. The Institute has an arrangement with the University of Western Ontario, Canada under which their B.Sc. students shall visit Canada.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have Passed / Appeared Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent form any discipline with Mathematics as a subject.

Notice for Admission to Ph.D. Program at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune.
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER; www.iiserpune.ac.in), established under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, houses state-of-the-art research facilities in all branches of science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology). IISER faculty are engaged in research in frontier and interdisciplinary areas of science.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC / ST) in M.Sc. in Chemistry /Physics / Biochemistry / Material Science/ Life Sciences /Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science or M. Stat or equivalent. Students with B. Tech. or equivalent degree in Engineering Physics / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering /B.Pharma / M.Pharma / MBBS degree may also apply for research programs in Physics and Life Sciences.
Other criteria:
The applicants should have qualified through NET / GATE / JEST or equivalent examination and the selected students with valid score are eligible for fellowship from IISER Pune. Students with valid UGC-CSIR JRF are eligible for fellowship directly from UGC or CSIR. Candidates must attend the interview before selection for doctoral program, the dates of which would be informed to the short-listed candidates. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply, and must submit the attested qualifying degree certificates / final transcripts before joining (Deadline: 30th September, 2008). Age: Not more than 28 years as on 1st August 2008 (Born on / after 01.08.1980). Age will be relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST candidates.

Diploma in Retailing is a unique programme, designed and developed by IGNOU, in collaboration with the Retailers Association of India (rai), Mumbai – www.rai.net.in. This one year programme includes an internship of six months duration with a stipend offered by reputed retail companies like Pantaloon Retail, Shoppers' Stop, Reliance Retail, Reliance Communications, Arvind Brands, Subhiksha, Zodiac, The Mobile Store, Provogue, Max Hypermarkets, and ITC.
Eligibility criteria
1 Direct Entry: Candidates who have completed +2 shall be eligible for admission. However, the number of seats depends upon the number of internships made available by the collaborating retail companies through rai at the time of admission. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying (+2 examination) shall also be eligible to apply. However, such candidates shall be required to submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination before 31st July, 2008.
Selection is by merit based on +2 equivalent qualification. There will be personal interview at the designated Regional Centre in order to assess the traits of the candidate viz. Appearance, Ability to Communicate, Attitude, Mental Alertness and General Knowledge.
2. Sponsored Entry: Candidates directly sponsored by the retail industry and who have completed +2 shall be admitted. The Sponsor is allowed to nominate employees from their Retail Organization who have passed +2/equivalent. The Sponsor will submit the Sponsorship Form along with the individual application forms(s) of the candidate(s) in a separate format inserted in the Student Handbook and Prospectus-cum-Application Form. The Sponsorship application must be sent by the Organization and not by individual employees.
