ADMISSION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2008-2009

CAD-37: The Institute of Mathematics and Applications (Govt. of Orissa) is offering two futuristic and innovative programmes. Both the programmes have already been approved by the Govt. of Orissa and affiliated to the Utkal University.

M.A./ M.Sc. in Computational Finance:
Objectives:
This first of its kind in India. The main objective of this high end two year full time programme is to provide students with the practical skills and theoretical understanding and evaluations of the tools and models used by the ever changing and increasingly complex financial service sectors.

Placements:
Highly reputed firms have already made offers to their final year students.

Eligibility:
Candidate must have Passed/ Appeared Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics/ Statistics as a core subject.


B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and Computing:
Objective:
This is a 3 year full time rigorous course aimed at those who wish to pursue a career in cutting-edge research in mathematical science and related fields, also provides enough scope for a career in information technology in the industry.
There are a limited number of scholarships. The Institute has an arrangement with the University of Western Ontario, Canada under which their B.Sc. students shall visit Canada.

Eligibility:
Candidates must have Passed / Appeared Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent form any discipline with Mathematics as a subject.

Eligible candidates seeking admission to these courses can collect the Application Form and Prospectus, in person or by post, from the Director Institute of Mathematics and Applications, 2nd Floor, Surya Kiran Building, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar, by writing an Application to the Director along with a Bank Draft of Rs.350/- in person or Rs.400/- by post for M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing. All the drafts should be in favour of Director, Institute of Mathematics and Applications payable at Bhubaneswar.
