Applications are invited form AATE qualified candidates for admission to M.Tech. programs in different specializations. Candidates should satisfy the eligibility criteria as given in their website, having minimum 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination. They should have valid GATE core in GATE 2008 or in GATE 2007.

Candidates selected for admission will be provided with financial assistance on merit basis. It will be in the form of stipend (Half Time Teaching Assistanceship) @ Rs.8000/- per month, tenable for a maximum period of 24 months. Such candidates are required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to academic activities of the department such as laboratory work, tutorials, evaluation of test papers, seminars, research projects, etc.

Interested candidates can downloaded the application form from their website www.srmuniv.ac.in, fill up the same and send it along with a DD for Rs.750/- in dawn in favour of “SRIMIST” payable at Channai, to the Dean (Admissions), SRM University, SRM Nagar, Kattankulathur – 603203, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, so as to reach him or before 20th June 2008.

Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which is a central autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The Institute conducts research in all frontline areas of plant biology, agriculture and chemistry. The institute invites applications from eligible candidates for admission in CIMAP-JNU Ph.D programme (2008-2009) leading to award of Ph.D degree from JNU. Candidates who have completed or will be completing M.Sc. in life sciences (Agriculture/ Botany/ Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Bioscience/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics) with minimum 55 % marks and have cleared CSIR UGC NET Exam/ ICMR NET Exam / DBT JRF Exam or any other Exam leading to JRF/ SRF fellowship tenable at CIMAP (as on 3rd August, 2008) are eligible for selection under the programme to carry out advanced research in the area of Biotechnology/ Genomics/ Plant Tissue Culture/ Bioinformatics/ Plant Physiology/ Metabolomics/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Botany and Pharmacogonosy/ Natural Product/ Synthetic/ Analytical/ Process Chemistry/ Agronomy/ Soil Science/ Plant Nutrition/ Crop Improvement/ Crop Protection/ Agricultural Economics & Extension, etc. The selection will be made on the basis of interview only. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D Programme in academic affiliation with the Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. Reservations are as per Government of India norms.

The selection will be made on the basis of Interview only. The interview of short-listed candidates will be held on 2 and 3 August, 2008. Each eligible candidate will be communicated about date and time of the interview by post. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. Programme in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Selected candidates will have to complete Pre-Ph.D. courses in any one of the three sub-disciplines (Plant Sciences/Biotechnology and Bioinformatics/Chemical sciences) of their interest as the Core courses with optional courses, in two semesters spread over one year. On the successful completion of courses (OGPA 6.5/10 for general category and 6.0/10.0 for SC/ST/OBC) students will be eligible for registration as CIMAP-JNU Ph.D scholar under the supervision of CIMAP scientist available as guide to carry out research on a scientific topic covered under CIMAP’s mandate at CIMAP, Lucknow. A maximum of twenty four students may be admitted covering all the three sub disciplines mentioned above.

1. Application should be typed on plain A-4 size paper in format given below. Application proforma can also be down loaded from our website
2. Completed application forms must be accompanied with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/-(rupees three hundred only) in favour of Director, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow. A Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- (one hundred only) is acceptable from SC/ST/OBC candidate provided relevant documentary proof is attached with the application. The processing fee is not refundable.
3. Application should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets from Senior Secondary level onward.

Applications in prescribed forms are invited for admission in AICTE approved M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Pharm Programs in UIT/UTDs of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, for the session 2008-2009 as per details given below. In case GATE qualified candidates are not available the remaining seats will be filled by NON GATE candidates on the basis of a combined score of 80% weightage for their percentage/ percentile in the qualifying examination and 20% weightage for interview marks. The reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC shall be strictly as per norms of the MP Government. COURSE
1. ADVANCE DIPLOMA IN TOOL AND DIE MAKING (Four Years; 40 Seats)
Qualification: 10th Standard with Science and Maths or Equivalent with 60% marks in aggregate (50% for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category)
Course Fee: Rs.20000/- per annum ( in Two equal installments)

2. CERTIFICATE IN MACHINIST (TOOL ROOM) ( 2Years; 20 seats)
Qualification: 10th Standard with Science and Maths with 60% marks in aggregate (50% for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category)
Course Fee: Rs.15000/- per annum ( in Two equal installments)

Age: 15-19 years as on 1/8/2008 (3 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates)

Reservation in seats to SC/ST/OBC/PH are applicable as per rules and course are open to Boys and Girls.

PLACEMENT: Institute arranges Campus Interviews. Almost 100% placement for pass-out students.

INTERNSHIP: On successful completion of the course, the Trainees may have to undergo One year Internship, if required at the discretion of the General Manager, IGTR, Aurangabad.

Stipend and Scholarships (Under graduate Level (B.A.)/ Post graduate Level)

Stipend & Scholarships: A limited number of merit cum need-based scholarships are available for deserving students. The students belong to SC/ST/OBC are provided scholarship from Social Welfare Department as per State Govt. norms.

1. At the Under graduate Level (B.A.)
(A) Need-based scholarship in BA Ist Year
Scholarships are given to needy students who will be required to furnish the following details alongwith supporting documents on having secured admission to the desired course :
(i) Proof of Income of family
(ii) Minimum 45% marks in 10 + 2 final examination

The above scholarship is only for the first year. The number of scholarships are limited.

(B) Need-cum-merit-based scholarship in BA II & III Year
Scholarships are renewable each year. The candidate’s performance is assessed every year and if she fulfills the following conditions, the scholarships will be continued.
(i) Secured a minimum of 60% marks in the previous year exams.
(ii) Proof of family income.
(iii) Good conduct certified by teachers concerned.
(iv) Has full attendance.

All these scholarships will contribute only towards the waiver of tuition fees and no cash rewards. The student will have to bear other expenses. A committee will decide students and the decision of the University will be final.

2. At the Post graduate Level
(a) For study of Post graduate courses (non-conventional subjects excluding SOL) stipends are offered to 5 students per year per course for Rs. 1000/- p.m. for 10 months.
(b) For study of M.Phil. Courses stipends are offered to 5 students on merit basis only to those students who have their masters degree either in Jainology and Comparative Religion and Philosophy or in Prakrit for Rs. 1500/- p.m. for 10 months.

The award of stipend will be made on the recommendations of HOD and approval of Vice-Chancellor.

Conditions :
Every student who gets the stipend should have
(i) good conduct certified by HOD and concerned Administrative Officers including hostel wardens.
(ii) have regular attendance, which means :
(a) A student must have minimum of 75% attendance every month.
(b) If a student is admitted upto the 15th of the month he/she will be entitled for the stipend for that month fulfilling the condition of a minimum of 75% attendance proportionately. But if he/she is admitted after the 15th, the stipend for that month will not be granted to him/her.

Note :
1. Vice-Chancellor is the competent authority to change, add or delete any of the above rules.
2. The decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final in respect of interpretation of any of the rules and regulations mentioned above.
3. Non-fulfillment of any of these conditions will result in the discontinuation of the stipend.

The program is aimed for foreign students provided they meet the general prerequisite of proficiency in English. The following could be possible applicants:

Course Credits
The programme has three credits in a 3-week duration. The number of credits a student can take in this programme depends on the agreements with individual students or agreement reached with the University or participating institution.

Other highlights of the Programme
i. Visit to historical places in and around Ladnun.
ii. Interaction with spiritual leaders, Jain monks and nuns, journalists, intellectuals, scientists and Gandhian activists.

Qualifying Conditions:
􀁺 The course will be held in smoke free campus. Only those who can abstain from smoking should apply.
􀁺 No alcoholic drinks, tobacco are permitted in the campus.
􀁺 Only vegetarian food is served and allowed in the campus.

Facilities Provided
Boarding and Lodging arrangements for students joining the UJP will be made in the campus.

Fee Structure
Fee for 3-week course including boarding and lodging is of US $ 500, concession is also available on special request.

Location
The University is located in Ladnun, a small township in the Nagaur District of Rajasthan (India), representing the ancient Indian Gurukul tradition. Its smoke, drug and pollution-free campus provides an excellent environment for studies and research. Surrounded by sand dunes, it has a green leafy setting and peaceful atmosphere, which can make a person forget the hustle and bustle of cities and tensions of a busy industrial life.
Ladnun is 380 kms. west of Delhi, the Capital city of India, and 215 kms. North West of Jaipur, which is known as the Pink City and the Capital of the State of Rajasthan. It is well served by deluxe and express bus services from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Delhi and other cities. The nearest airports are Jaipur and Jodhpur.
