Two-Year Full Time MBA Programme

Eligibility
A Bachelor’s degree after (10+2) in any discipline from a recognized institution, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA {45% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and DA (Differently Abled Categories*)}. For Honours graduates the aggregate will include marks of both Honours and Pass Papers. Candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply.

Indian School of Mines uses CAT score for short-listing candidates for our two year full time program in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the program.

Selection
Applicant shall have to appear Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs in a computerized format from November 28, 2009 to December 07, 2009. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection. The sanctioned strength for the MBA Program is 62 and the reservation policy of Government of India meant for higher educational institutions is strictly adhered to.

1. The CAT Vouchers can be obtained during August 31, 2009 to October 01, 2009. Candidates are requested to consult the CAT-2009 advertisement to be issued d by IIMs on August 30, 2009.

2. Request for ISMU application form and brochure should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs. 1500/- (Rs.750/- for candidates belong to SC and ST categories)drawn in favour of Registrar, ISM University and payable at Dhanbad and should be addressed to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION FOR ENTRY:

DM Cardiology & Neurology: MD in General Medicine or Paediatrics or equivalent qualification. Candidates with MD in Psychiatry with a minimum of six months residency posting in General Medicine and Neurology during the said course can also apply for DM Neurology. General Information
Upper age limit as on 1st January 2010 is 35 years for DM/M.Ch, PDCC Courses, Ph.D and Nursing Courses and 25 years for Diploma courses, relaxable by 5 years for ex-service personnel with a service of not less than 5 years, SC/ST and sponsored candidates. Two candidates can be admitted as SPONSORED, in addition to the usual number of seats, for each course, if sponsored by Government / Governmental agencies or Universities.
Candidates with more than two failures in the University or equivalent examinations are not eligible for admission. Admission will be based on the previous academic record of the candidates and their performance in the selection tests to be held in the Institute during November 2009.
All scholars will be provided with accommodation subject to availability of rooms in the hostel.
Prescribed forms for Application and Prospectus can be obtained by a written request accompanied by a Bank Draft for Rs.600/- drawn in favour of SCTIMST, Trivandrum, in case of Doctoral, M.P.H and Ph.D Programmes and a bank draft for Rs.250/ for other programmes. Selection Process
Admissions to the M.Tech programme in Nuclear Engineering will commence from 17th August, 2009. A candidate has to apply as prescribed in the application form available on the website.

The selection procedure for admission to the post-graduate programme is a two-stage process.

• Stage I : Admission Test
An admission test will be conducted on Sunday, 27th September, 2009 at PDPU Campus.
Admission test will be common for all candidates. It will be based upon the fundamentals of Engineering, Physics, Mathematics. Duration of the test will be 1 hour. The test format will be objective-type; however, certain questions may need demonstration of calculations. The test would comprise of about 40-50 questions, out of which candidates are expected to attempt about 30 questions.

• Stage II : GD & Personal Interview
Based on the performances in Stage I, applicants will be invited for a Personal Interview shortly after the admission test on Sunday, 27th September, 2009.
Other factors including academic rigor, significant achievements and/or work experience will be considered.

IUCAA – NCRA Admission Test (INAT – 2009) is being conducted to select candidates for research scholarship (to join Ph.D. Programme) either at Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, or National Centre for Radio Astrophysics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (NCRA – TIFR), Pune.

Eligibility:
Applications are invited from students who expect to complete their M.Sc. (in Physics/ Electronics/Astronomy/Applied Mathematics) or B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. degree (any branch) with First Class marks, by August 2010.
