IELTS SCHOLARSHIP 2010 – TAMILNADU – BRITISH COUNCIL



The British Council is delighted to announce the launch of the British Council IELTS Scholarship for Indian students planning to study at universities overseas. In line with its mission to promote the global sharing of knowledge and ideas, the British Council will select eight students from India, each of whom will receive an award of Rs.3,00,000 towards the cost of tuition fees.

Eligibility:
* Be a citizen of India.
* Begin full time postgraduate study outside India in 2010.
* Attend a higher education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements.
* Have a valid IELTS score, with a minimum band score average 6.5.
* Have taken their most recent IELTS test with the British Council.
* Be able to provide an acceptance letter from the attending institution by 20 August 2010.
Application Procedure:
* Take an IELTS test with the British Council and receive your scores.
* Download and complete the application form and go through the FAQs.
* Last date for completed applications is 31 July 2010. You must complete selection Task.
* Forty applicants will be shortlisted. We will notify you via email by 6 August 2010 whether you have been short-listed. Short-listed applicants will be required to make a ten minute presentation on a topic that will be communicated, followed by a brief interview.
* We must receive from the short-listed applicants a letter of acceptance from the university you plan to attend prior to 20 August 2010.
* Failure to submit your letter of acceptance by the 20 August deadline will result in your immediate removal from the short-list of applicants.
* We will notify all short-listed applicants of the final result by email by 31 August 2010.

Nordam Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship 2010

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and The NORDAM Group annually award $2,500 to an undergraduate who is officially enrolled as an aerospace engineering or aeronautical systems maintenance engineering major at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

The NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship was created by NBAA and The NORDAM Group to honor the lifetime achievements of two aerospace engineering pioneers, Dee Howard and Etienne Fage. NORDAM has been a world leader in aircraft component manufacturing and repair since 1969.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship, the applicant must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. A completed and signed application form must be accompanied by an essay, official transcript, resume and letter of recommendation.
Awards: Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. This scholarship will be presented at the NBAA 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention in October 2010. It will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA and The NORDAM Group, and checks will be made payable to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. The scholarship recipient must use all scholarship funds within 24 calendar months of the announcement of the award or risk forfeit of the award.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration Admission 2010

Welingkar Institute of Management is an autonomous institute and all distance learning programs offered by it are autonomous in nature, but it is one of the few institutions whose distance learning programs have been accredited by Distance Education Council (DEC), a body of the Central Govt. of India.

Distance Education Council (DEC) has been set up by the Govt. of India under the IGNOU Act for assessment and accreditation of distance education institutes in India. An approved institute and its programs are stringently appraised by DEC with regard to its content, quality of education and its delivery systems.

A Joint Committe of Nominees from AICTE, UGC, IGNOU and DEC does thorough inspection before recognition of the programe. Hence, DEC approval ensures students about the quality of education and assures them about the standard of qualification which they earn from the Institute’s distance learning programs.
Duration: This is 2 years, PG Diploma program offered in the distance learning mode. The curriculum is at par with the Distance Learning MBA offered by leading Universities. The two year program is divided into 4 semesters. The registration validity of these 2 year PG programs is 3 years. The registration validity is subject to payment of full program fees as per the payment schedule. While the program duration is of 2 years only, the additional one year is given to students to submit/clear all pending exams/project report. Incase, a student is not able to complete the program within 3 years, he is required to pay Rs.7500/- Re-Registration Fees for getting one more year extention to clear the balance subject(s) or to submit the project.

Salient features of the program: The first two semesters are generic, common to all and cover general topics of management. The last two semesters contain specialization related subjects.

Eligibility:
* Graduates from any recognized university.
* Diploma holders from any recognized polytechnic with 3 years of supervisory work experience post diploma.
* Final year degree student. However, their admission will be confirmed only on submission of the attested Xerox copies of their degree certificates/final year mark sheets within 60 days of admission.
* If a student has completed his graduation from an international university, then the University should be approved by AIU/UGC/IGNOU or by any other international associations like EQUIS, AACSB OR AMBA.

Enrollment: There will be four batches each year.
o First batch commencing from 1st January.(Admissions starting from November)
o Second batch commencing from 1st April.(Admissions starting from February)
o Third batch commencing from 1st July.(Admissions starting from May every year)
o Fourth batch commencing from 1st October.(Admissions starting from August every year)

Sr. Management Program Admission 2010

This one-year Program, currently in its seventh batch, has been designed specifically to equip senior executives with quantitative tools and qualitative perspective so that they can make strategic decisions. This Program will enable participants, which consist of working professional with at least 10 years of work experience, to broaden their business perspective, develop tools and techniques required for managing organizations and very importantly, transform them into strategic leaders in their organizations. The Program has a strong strategic bias.

The Program is divided into two modules—the Introductory Module and the Advanced Module. The Introductory Module focuses on the essentials of functional skills of management.
