NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF AYURVEDA is an Autonomous body of the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India – has announced the Admission for Research Fellowship programme 2007-2008 session.

COURSES OFERED BY NATIONAL INSTITUE OF AYURVEDA, JAIPUR (Raj.)
Ph.D(Ayur) (Ayurveda Varidhi)
A regular Ph.D. Course with 2 fellowships is available in the subjects of Kaya Chikitsa, Shalya Tantra, Dravyaguna, Vikriti Vigyan and Shareer Kriya. The Institute also provides facilities for Ph.D scholars registered with the University under the guidance and supervision of teachers of the Institute. Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Samhita (Basic Principles), Vikriti Vigyan(Pathology),Dravya Guna(Pharmacology), Rasa Shastra(Pharmacy), Shareer Kriya(Physiology), Shalya Tantra(Surgery), Kaumara Bhritya(Pediatrics), Panchakarma(Penta Bio-Purification Measures). A Stipend of Rs. 8275/- for 1st year and Rs. 8550/- for the subsequent year with DA is available.

Post-Graduate Course of MD( Ay.)
The PG Course, MD (Ayurved) or Ayurved Vachaspati is of 3 years duration divided into two Parts. At present the Institute is imparting the Post-graduate course in the following 9 subjects: Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), Samhita (Basic Principles), Vikriti Vigyan ( Pathology), Dravya Guna (Pharmacology), Rasa Shastra (Pharmacy), Sharir Rachana (Anatomy), Shareer Kriya (Physiology), Shalya Tantra (Surgery), Kaumara Bhritya (Pediatrics), Panchakarma (Penta Bio-Purification Measures), Swastha Vritta (Hygiene and Yoga). The annual admission capacity is 55 (5 in each subject). Admission is made after conducting an all India Entrance Test by the Institute.The PG scholars are paid a Stipend of Rs. 7000/-(1st Year), Rs. 7500/-(2nd Year) and Rs. 8000/-(Final Year) along with DA applicable from time to time.

Diploma in Ayurveda Nursing and Pharmacy
The duration of Diploma in Ayurveda Nursing and Pharmacy Training is of 2½ year. The admission qualification prescribed by the Rajasthan Ayurved University is Higher Secondary Examination from the Board of Secondary education of Rajasthan, Ajmer or an examination recognised by the University as equivalent thereto. The admission capacity to Diploma in Ayurveda Compounder/Nurse Training is 20 per year. 15% Reservation for S.C. and 7½% for S.T. candidates are also available.

Under Graduate Course of BAMS
The Under-graduate Course, Ayurvedacharya (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is of 5½ years duration (4½ years of the main course and 1 year internship). The main course is divided into 3 Professional Courses of 1½ years duration each. The admission qualification prescribed by the University of Rajasthan is Senior Higher Secondary examination in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and Sanskrit or Uttar Madhyama of Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya with Science and English or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto. Wherever provision and facilities for teaching Sanskrit as optional subject is not available at the 12th standard, the students admitted from Science-Biology stream are taught Sanskrit in the main course. The annual admission capacity to BAMS is 60 including 10 seats reserved for girls. Admission Notification is made on all India level and after conducting an Entrance Test, candidates standing in the highest merits are admitted in the Institute. The Under Graduate course is imparted in the following Subjects through the 13 Departments having the required facilities and staff:
1st Professional Course: History of Ayurveda: Sanskrit,Padartha Vigyan, Ashtang Sangrah, Sharir Rachana, Sharir Kriya.
2nd Professional Course: Swasth Vritta, Dravya Guna, Rasa Shastra, Agad Tantra, Rog & Vikriti Vigyan, Charak Samhita.
3rd Professional Course: Prasuti and Stri Roga, Kaumara Bhritya, Kayachikitsa, Shallya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Charak Samhita.During the 1 year rotatory Internship, the interns are paid Rs. 5700/- per month as stipend.

Fellowship amount: Rs 30,000

Duration: Three months

Eligibility:Post-graduate and doctoral students enrolled in Indian educational institutions, civil servants and other interested research scholars/ candidates.

Age: 35 years as on December 14, 2007.

Last date:The deadline for receiving applications is December 28, 2007.

The scholars will be required to base the project on resources of the Council's library. At the end of the term they are expected to bring out a monograph in any Indian language including English, or in Arabic and Persian.

The National Board of Examinations shall hold the 14th convocation on the 15th March 2008 at CHRIST COLLEGE, Bangaluru (Bangalore). Candidates Successful in the DNB – Broad & Superspecialties Final Examinations for sessions December 2006 and June 2007 shall be awarded the Diplomate National Board (DNB). Candidates Successful in the Fellowship Exit Examinations held in year 2007 shall be awarded Fellow National Board (FNB). 1. JRF - Biochemistry : 1st Class M. Sc. in Biochemistry / Biotechnology and in related areas of Life Sciences with ICMR / UGC / CSIR JRF – Fellowship.

Applications are invited for admission to part time PhD / MS/ M Phil Research Programmes at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad.

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre PhD programme


BARC invites applications for its PhD programme commencing in September 2008 under the aegis of HBNI.

Details about the selection process:

Selection for the PhD programme is a two-step process: screening to short-list candidates followed by interview of short-listed candidates.

Screening for Engineering Sciences shall be on the basis of valid GATE-2007/ GATE-2008 score.

Screening for Chemical and Life Sciences shall be on the basis of one of the following: (i) GATE-2007/GATE-2008 score, (ii) Score in the Written Test-2008 of the BARC Training School.

Screening for Physical Sciences shall be on the basis of one of the following:

(i) GATE-2007/GATE-2008 score, (ii) Score in Joint Entrance Screening Tests-2008 (JEST-2008), (iii) Score in the Written Test-2008 of the BARC Training School.

Eligibility:

a. Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications

Those having M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Biology or related science subjects with minimum 60% marks or B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in one of the following Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Instrumentation are eligible to apply. The applicants applying on the basis of M.Sc. degree should also have scored minimum 60% marks in B.Sc. Those whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply. In the event of selection, mark sheet of final result should be submitted by November 30, 2008.

b. Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DAE Fellowship should have been born on or after September 1, 1982. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants.

c. Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen.
