ICMR in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh will hold a National level examination for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), for Indian national candidates at Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta Mumbai and Hyderabad on Sunday, July 13th, 2008.
A total of 150 Fellowships would be awarded; 120 fellowships awarded in Life Sciences stream (like microbiology, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, human biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, immunology, zoology, environmental sciences, botany, veterinary sciences etc), and thirty (30) fellowships in social sciences stream (like Psychology, Sociology, Home Science, Statistics, Anthropology and Social work).
Application form duly completed must reach the Registrar; Academic Section PGIMER, Chandigarh- 160012 by registered/Speed post on or before 25.4.2008. Candidate from remote areas /regions may submit their application forms duly completed latest by 2.5.2008.

Eligibility:
Educational: M.Sc/M.A or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC Candidates and 50% for the SC/ST & physically handicapped (PH) candidates in the subjects mentioned above.
Candidates appearing in the final year examination (2007-2008) can also apply.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for admission to the eligibility test is 28 years as on 30-09-2008 (relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/ female candidates and 3 years in the case of OBC.

The candidates may apply in the downloaded form together with requisite fee by demand draft in the name of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Candidates are advised to preserve photocopy of the Bank draft for further reference. SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates should submit a copy of the certificate from the competent authority in English or Hindi along with bank draft. All disputes relating to the conduct of the examination or any matter connected with this advertisement shall be dealt in the jurisdiction of Delhi Court.

The policies of globalization have taken India agriculture into the global village, opening up unprecedented opportunities as will as great challenges. These and other concomitant forces of change are placing significant demands for managerial skills in the Agri-Business sector. The programme prepares students for managerial and entrepreneurial career in enterprises serving or dependent on agriculture and allied sectors. These enterprises may be engaged in activities such as: Production and marketing of Inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, from machinery and equipment, livestock feed, irrigation, and credit; Production, Procurement, Processing, and Marketing of Output such as agriculture (includes crops, livestock, fisheries, forestry, agro forestry, horticulture, dairying) market5ing, agro processing, and food processing; Providing Services to Agriculture such as export and import, rural banking, financing agri projects, insurance, logistics, water management, research and development, and rural energy.

Eligibility:
The minimum Qualification for admission into the programme is a Bachelors degree with at least second division or equivalent OGPA in Agriculture or allied subjects, Veterinary Science or Dairy Technology, Food Technology from any Agricultural University or Degree in Bio Technology / Microbiology /Life Science / Commerce from any Institution recognized by the ICAR / UGC.Candidates who are yet to complete their graduation this year and are unable to submit their provisional certificate and mark sheet along with theapplication may also apply. They must, however, submit along with their application, their mark sheets/grade card indicating the cumulative marks/OGPA till the previous year/semester and also indicate the same in the application form. Their provisional eligibility will be decided based on the same. If selected, they may seek provisional admission into the programme on payment of the required fee and other charges as specified. After joining the programme, they will have to submit the provisional degree certificate and aggregate marks/OGPA latest by August 31, 2008 failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled. There will be no refund of fee paid by the students, in the event of the cancellation of their admission for the above or any other reasons or withdrawal by the student. All applicants are required to submit Xerox / attested copies of a complete set of documents as indicated in the application form, at the time of enrolment. They must produce the original documents for verification at the time of admission.

Reservation:
The reservation for SC, ST and Physically handicapped candidates is applicable as per the University rules, subject to meeting the other eligibility criteria for admission

A multi-stage, selection procedure will be followed for admitting candidates, as described below: All applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria for application will be invited on the basis of MAT / MANAGE / CAT score to appear for the G.D & P.I.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1.For all courses, where MBBS/BDS is an eligible requirement, the candidate who have made more than one attempt (i.e. have more than one failure, compartment or reappear) during their MBBS / BDS career, are not eligible. For DM/M.Ch., courses, the candidates who have made mroe than one attempt in MBBS/MD/MS career are not eligible. However, those belonging to Sch. Caste/Tribes with upto two attempts in their MBBS/BDS career will be eligible for MD/MS, and MDS, House Job in Oral Health Sciences.

2.The candidates completing internship after 30.6.2008 are not eligible for course No. 1, 2 and 3.

3.The number of seats wherever indicated are provisional and may increase/decrease without any prior notice.

4.The course at Sr. No. 6 to 18 are only for Sponsored / Deputed Candidates.

5.A candidate applying for more than one subject/course except category – 1 & 2 is required to submit separate application complete in all respect for reach subject / course.
