TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DIPLOMATE NATIONAL BOARD

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION: 1) Applicant should be an Indian citizen. 2) The applicant should have passed MBBS degree examination and completed one year CRRI programme from any recognized University in India. 3) The applicant should have either a CET / Primary pass certificate from the National Board Examination or PG Diploma pass certificate in the concerned subject. 4) For super speciality courses the applicant should pass the P.G (MD / DNB) course in the recommended speciality. 5) The applicant should have a valid medical council registration. 6) Maximum age limit is 45 years as on the last date of submission of application form.
HOW TO APPLY: Application should be made in the prescribed form, which can be downloaded from the website ( www.kottayammedicalcollege.org ) A Fee of Rs.1000 /- (Rs. Thousand only) has to be remitted by way of Treasury chalan only, in the head of account of “ 0210-03-105-99-DNB Application fee ” and original chalan receipt has to be attached along with the application. Last date for receipt of filled in application is on 25th Jan 2008 at 05.00PM. Duly filled application form along with the chalan receipt in original and attested true copies of the following documents should reach the office of the (The Principal, GOVERNMENT MEDICAL, COLLEGE,GANDHINAGAR P.O, KOTTAYAM- 686008) on or before 25th-01-2008.
Enclose the following with the application: 1) SSLC (or) equivalent (Relevant page to prove date of birth & Nativity). 2) MBBS Degree certificate. 3) All MBBS Mark lists. 4) CRRI Certificate. 5) CET / Primary / Diploma pass certificate. 6) A valid medical council registration certificate. 7) Those who are in Government service should submit the No Objection Certificate from the employer. 8) Relieving Order from the concerned authority should be submitted at the time of admission, if selected. 9) Late or incomplete application will be rejected.

FEES: Fees will be charged on par with those for MD/MS course and for Super Specialty courses. Fees remitted will not be refunded, under any circumstances.
STIPEND: The trainees will be paid stipend, as per the directions of the Government of Kerala.

MODE OF SELECTION: (1) Selection will be made as per the rank list prepared by this office based on the marks of the MBBS examination + Interview (2) Rank list will be based on (a) Marks obtained in MBBS examination - Total marks for final MBBS Part I & II and marks for concerned subject will be added and converted to marks out of a maximum of 50 marks. (b) Interview conducted by a panel to assess skills and aptitude – 50 marks (3) Interview will be conducted by a panel constituted for the purpose as per the guidelines of NBE. (4) The candidate can apply for a maximum of 2 subjects only. (5) Selected candidates will have to join the course on the prescribed date by producing all the requisite documents in original and paying the prescribed fees; failing which, they will forfeit their seat and the seats thus falling vacant will be filled up by the candidates from wait list, having validity for one month from the date of admission. (6) Selected candidates shall register with the National Board with in one month of joining the course. (7) The selected candidates will abide by the rules and regulations of the college and will not engage in private practice during the period of training.

BONDED OBLIGATIONS: (1) a. All candidates should serve the Government of Kerala (Under Medical Education Service) for a period of one year. b. The candidates who are already in Government service will serve the Government (Under Medical Education Service or DHS) for a period not less than Five years. (2) The candidate should submit two bonds at the time of admission a. That he/she would refund the amount received as stipend plus an amount of Rs. 500,000/- as liquidated damages. b. A bond that he/she would serve the Government of Kerala under the Directorate of Medical Education for a period of one year failing which he /she would be required to pay Rs. 10 Lakhs as damages.
LEAVE: (1) The candidate should have a minimum percentage of attendance as stipulated by the NBE. All the 365 days of the year are working days for DNB students. However, they will be permitted to avail casual leave for 20 days, but not more than 10 days at a stretch. Any other leave will entail extension of the course. The candidate will also be eligible for “ leave under exceptional circumstances” supported by medical certificate (Subject to verification by medical board) recommended by the Head of the Department and sanctioned by the Head of the Institution. This leave will also be subject to extension. The candidate will be eligible for stipend during the period of extension only. Those who take leave without prior sanction are liable to be considered to be on unauthorized absence. If the candidate is unauthorisedly absent for more than 10 days, he/she will be terminated from the course and liquidated damages will be levied. (2) All DNB students are eligible for weekly off for one day. This will be allowed by the Head of the Department concerned without affecting the routine functioning of the department. Weekly off cannot be accumulated. (3) DNB students are permitted to attend CMEs, Workshops and other academic programmes conducted by the recognized academic bodies in India, without affecting the routine working of the departments concerned and without financial commitment on the part of the Government. The head of the departments shall sanction special casual leave for a maximum of five days in a year to DNB candidates provided they apply prior to the programme and the head of the department is convinced about the genuinity of the programme and utility for the particular course. The student on returning from the programme should submit attendance certificate to the head of the department. (4) No DNB student shall leave the country without prior sanction of the Government. Any violation will be viewed seriously warranting termination of the course. (5) The candidate should have to complete full course of two or three years as stipulated, before appearing for the final examination.

Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is an autonomous research organization under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, undertaking advance level ofresearch in all aspects of the geology and geodynamics of the Himalaya. It has strong specialization in the areas of Petrology and Geochemistry, Structure and Tectonics,Sedimentology, Geomorphology, Glaciology, Magnetostratigraphy, Biostratigraphy, Quaternary Geology, Environment Geology, Seismology and Geophysics. The Institutealso houses modern analytical laboratories. To encourage young students/researchers to make career in earth sciences, the Institute has doctoral program and offers Research Associateships to fresh Ph.D. To promote research in emerging areas of earth sciences, the Institute also undertakes sponsored projects.
The Institute invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the following positions:
1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: 3 (three)
Remuneration: Rs.11,000/- p.m. consolidated plus 7.5 % ( H.R.A )Sufficient supporting contingent grant for field work etc. will be provided. Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 years as on 30.01.2008.
Essential Qualification: Ph. D. degree in Geology/Geophysics in any emerging areas of Earth Sciences. The candidates about to submit thesis for Ph.D degree and having three years of proven research experience will also be considered. The selected candidates are expected to persue research at Post-doctoral level. The candidates with experience in the field of structural geology/metamorphic petrology/Sedim-entology/AMS/Seismology will be given preference.
Tenure of appointment: The appointment will be initially for three years, extended annually based upon the performance and review of work. Only in very exceptional cases,the tenure of appointment can be extended beyond the initial period by maximum two years.

2.JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW: ( 6 )Scholarship : Rs. 8,000/- p.m. consolidated plus 7.5% (H.R.A) during the first and second year and Rs.9,000/- p.m. consolidated plus 7.5 % (H.R.A) during subsequent years, subject to satisfactory performance. Sufficient supporting contingent grant for field work etc. be provided. Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years as on 30.01.2008.
Essential Qualification: 1s class M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Geology/Geophy-sics or allied subject with consistently good academic record. Candidates who have clearedNET/GATE, UGC-CSIR combined examination will be given preference. NET/GATE qualified candidates MUST attach an attested photocopy of NET/GATE qualifications will have to appear in a written test at the Institute in Dehradun and those who qulify in the written examination will only be called for an interview. Candidates with Maths at graduation level will be given preference.
Tenure of Scholarship: The scholarship will be initially for a period of three years. Continuance during this period of three years will depend on satisfactory performance. Thereafter likely to be extended for one or more years depending upon the performance and review of work. The selected candidates may be allowed to register for Ph.D after successful completion of training.

ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION 2008

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Engineering Services Examination, 2008 commencing from 7th June 2008. The Examination will be held at various centers across the country.

Salient features of the Examination are published herein for general information of candidates. For details regarding the scheme and syllabi, centers of examination guidelines for filling up the application from etc. aspirants must consult the detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samacher dated 12th January, 2008.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:
(a) Age Limit: Not less than 21 years an not more than 30 years on 1st August, 2008. The Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
(b) Educational Qualification:
A candidate must hold a Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Provided that a candidates applying for the posts of Indian Naval Armament Services (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Engineer group A in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organization may posses M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. Candidates who qualify on the results of the written part of the examination will be summoned for personality test.
(c) Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standard for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2008 as per Regulation given in Appendix – II of Rules for Examination published in Gazette of India Extraordinary dates 12th January, 2008.

APPLICATION FORM:
The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form desired by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (Specified in Appendix – III of the Notice Published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only. Each such Form can be used once and for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining the Application Form from designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices, the candidates should immediately contact concerned Post master or UPSC’s “Form Supply Monitoring Cell” over Telephone Non. 011-23389366/FAX NO. 011-23387310.

FEE:
Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candies are required to pay full fee).

Eligibility: Only those graduates with a minimum of 50% of marks and two or more years of industrial work experiences are eligible.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Dual Specialisation ) - Fresher Batch PGDM (Dual)
Eligibility: Graduates in any discipline with 50% of Marks are eligible. Note: (a) Students in this programmes are eligible to get selected for specialisation in Marketing and Sales, Finance, Operations, Banking & Insurance and Systems. Sri Balaji Society has its own Management Institutions and Colleges. And each institute and college, is important to the top of the management. The Prof. (Col.) A. Balasubramanian, is the founder of the society and holds the the President of Sri Balaji Society; the Executive Director of BIMM and the Dean of BITM, BIIB and BIMHRD. This institute will select the best possible candidates for all the Institutes from amongst the common pool of all the candidates applied for admission to any or all the institutes of Sri Balaji Society; although such a consideration arises only when a candidate is not selected for admission to the particular institute to which he or she may have applied originally. By doing so, there is no way taking away any opportunity from anyone but are providing an additional opportunity to get selected in any of the prestigious institutes of Sri Balaji Society. This institute enhancing the opportunity of those candidates who may not stand in the merit list of BIMM to get additional chances to be selected to our equally prestigious its other institutes, subject to the following conditions: (a) That they are eligible for the same. To become eligible, they should have opted for the institutes (one can opt for either one institute or for all the institutes as per his/her choice in the application form) for us to consider them. (b) That vacancy exists in those Institutes for such a consideration. (c) That they come up in the merit of scope for those institutes. (d) That such an option will become operative only when it becomes clear that the candidate who has applied for admission to BIMM is unlikely to get admission on merit list drawn for BIMM.
Centralized Admission process: The admission process for the management institutes of Sri Balaji Society will be undertaken centrally in the centres mentioned in the prospectus.
ELIGIBLITY: 1. A Graduate from any statutory University with a track record of 60% of marks i.e. minimum of 60% in 10th std., 12th std. and Graduation. (55% for SC/ST and physically disabled candidates. 2. Candidates appearing for the final year Degree examination up to June 2008 can also apply. However, if they fail to match the above qualitative requirement when the result is declared for the graduation examination, they will be relieved from the course compulsorily. Same will be the case in respect of those who fail in their degree examination. The mark sheets should be submitted to the Institute latest by first week of October, 2008. 3. Only those who have more than two years of industrial work experience in the field of sales, marketing, human resource, finance, operations, systems and related areas of management are eligible to apply for our PGDM - Executive Batch (Full Time). These applicants should submit the industry experience certificate signed by the Director (HR) of the Company / Companies and copies of their Appointment Letters along with the application form. There will be no difference in the course curriculum for this batch and they will receive the same input as applicable to the PGDM Programme except the fact that they can expect lateral placements. 4. Candidates passing degree examination by part time/distance learning/ correspondence/open school/externally or in one sitting are not eligible.
RESERVATIONS: 15% of seats reserved for SC candidates - 7.5% of seats reserved for ST candidates - 3% seats reserved for "physically handicapped candidates with a 40% and above disability - 15% seats are reserved for Management quota.

HOW TO APPLY: Application form for Full Time programmes is a part of this prospectus. This includes: (a) Application form, (b) Admit Card and (c) One envelope (The candidates need to mention the present address for correspondence). WRITTEN EXAMINATION: This institue are not holding the Balaji Admission Test (BAT) this year. Similarly, no spot registration for BIMM / BIIB will be held this year. Only short listed candidates on the basis of CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA will be called for GD and PI in different centres. Therefore, it is necessary that those who have not appeared in any of the national test mentioned above should appear for ATMA test now. The ATMA test is scheduled to be held on 10th Feb. 2008. Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD / PI): Candidates who have been screened through the written test score (CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ ATMA) will be called for group discussion and interview. The group discussion generally aims at measuring the skills, knowledge, attitude, social behaviour, leadership, personality, etc. of the candidates. Group discussion is an elimination round. The purpose of interview is to measure aptitude, subject knowledge, business awareness, communication skills and suitability for corporate careers.

MERIT LIST: On completion of interviews, we compare the performance of all candidates appearing for the interview and generate a final merit list based on their overall performance. Weightage is given to written test score, academic performance, work experience, group discussion score and personal interview score. Additional weightage will be given to those candidates who have completed/pursuing a four year degree or any other professional qualification such as CA/ CS/ ICWA etc. As a socially conscious trust this institute believe in the upliftment of the women candidates and hence a minimum of 50% of the seats may be considered for women candidates provided they are otherwise suitable.
CONFIRMATION OF ADMISSION: Selected students will be required to remit the first installment of the course fees within one month from the date of issue of admission letter to confirm the admission.
