SUMMER RESEARCH PROGRAMME 2008
Applications are invited from B.Sc., B.Tech. and M.Sc. students (preference will be given to BscII and M.Sc I year) and high school teachers of any branch of Science interested in a 6-week summer research programme being conducted at the School of Life Sciences (SLS), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The Summer programme is envisaged as part of the Community Outreach Programme of SLS, JNU under the UGC-sponsored ‘University with Potential for Excellence’ scheme.
With the attempt to motivate and stimulate young and creative minds to pursue a career in science, the summer school will provide the status of current research through talks from experts in the field of modern biological sciences and hands on experiment. Each participant will be allotted to a lab where they will conduct experiment and enjoy the fun of research.
Course duration: 21st May-27th June, 2008
Application procedure: Apply on plane paper along with curriculum vitae forwarded by the Head of the Department and a one-page write-up on what interests you in science. Please send your complete application to Dean, School of Life Science, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi -11067 latest by March 15, 2007
Accommodation: Only a limited number of accommodations may be available for outstation candidates (payment to be made by the participant) at first come first serve basis.
Travel grants: Candidates joining from outside Delhi will be provided sleeper class train fare.
Note: Only the selected candidates will be informed via e-mail/ JNU-website by March 31,2008 and no interim enquiry will be attended.
