Sardar Patel College, Delhi


Post Graduate in Communication / Management Programme Admission 2010

Established in 1967, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel College of Communication and Management Delhi is a constituent college of Rajendra Prasad institute of Communication and Management, Bombay. Set up with the aim of providing professional studies at the post-graduate level on a part-time basis, the college is a premier institution located in a heart of the city, offering avenues of continuing education, mainly to those in employment.

Introduction: The academic year, which starts normally in July and ends in March is divided into two terms. August to November and December to March. The number of working days during the year is approximately 180. The college observes all public holidays as notified by the Government of India.

Eligibility: Only graduates of a recognised University are eligible for admission. Those who have appeared for final graduation examination may be admitted provisionally, but if they do not produce evidence of graduation before 30th of September 2010 they will cease to be students and will forfeit the fee paid. Preference is given to those with a good academic record and work experience in the relevant field. Students applying for admission may be required to appear for written test and interview depending on the course. In case the qualifying degree/diploma of a candidate is found to be not recognised or not equivalent to a degree of recognised University, the student can be so informed and asked to discontinue at any time without refund of fee.
Attendance:
(a) A minimum of 65 % attendance at lectures is required, in each term and/ or on the whole.
(b) The candidate who has not qualified himself/herself with the minimum required attendance may, however, make up for the deficiency in the immediately subsequent academic year, and appear in the subsequent year’s examination.
(c) In such an event where a candidate makes up the deficit in minimum attendance of 65% required, he/she shall pay only the proportionate tuition fees for the term or terms put in the subsequent year, as the case may be, and as fixed by the Principal/Director.
(d) Ten marks will be given for regularity of attendance.

Admission Procedure: Applications for admission are to be submitted in the attached form along with a copy of Marksheet or Certificate of graduation and registration fee of Rs. 400/- by 25th June, 2010. These will be scrutinized and selections made after tests and interviews. The final list of candidates selected for admission will be announced by 30th June, 2010. Registration fee is non-refundable.

Course Fee: Rs. 22,500.00/-

Refund of Fees: Before the Commencement of the classes 80% of total Fees paid will be refunded (except the amount mentioned at 1 & 5 of page 3, mentioned in the prospectus) if any written request is made. Those who have not attended any class are eligible for refund of 75% of refundable fees till the end of the first week after the commencement of classes.
