M.A. in Social Work for 2010 - 2011

The Department of Social Work is one of the oldest and premier institutions in India offering a Two Year Post Graduate Degree in Social Work.

This Post Graduate Course is primarily designed for those who seek opportunities in the field of social welfare and development practice.

Eligibility for Delhi University Admission 2010:

Admission to the Department of Social Work is open to both men and women. The eligibility criteria are as follows :

Any person with a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 year) in any discipline with minimum 55% marks from recognized university is eligible to apply.


B.A. (H) Social Work degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University are eligible to apply.


PWD candidates shall be allowed 5% relaxation in the eligibility requirement.


Candidates belonging to SC / ST shall be eligible as per Delhi University rules to pass with the minimum marks.


Those candidates who are appearing in the final year examination of the Bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure :

Those satisfying eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through a two - stage process involving :

Written Test

Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The admission test will be held on 26th June, 2010 at Delhi. The new academic session shall commence from 21 July, 2010.

Admission Bulletin along with Delhi University Application Forms shall be available from 24th May, 2010 and may be obtained from the Department of Social Work against a cash payment of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 250/- for SC / ST candidates) at Department counter or by post or by downloading the form from website www.du.ac.in along with a demand draft of Rs. 450/- (Rs. 300/-in case of SC / ST candidates) drawn in favour of "Registrar, University of Delhi", payable at Delhi.

Last date for receipt of completed applications at the Department by hand or by post is 21st June, 2010.
