About College: the Government of India and the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, jointly established the Institute to serve as a regional center for teaching, training and conducting research in the area of population studies in the ESCAP region. Prior to 1970, the IIPS was popularly known as Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC).

Course Description: Master of Population Studies (MPS) 
Fee:  
Eligibility: Admission requirements: Applicants should hold a Master Degree in Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Geography, Social Work, Population Studies, Mathematics or Statistics from a recognized University. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination and expecting results by June this year can also apply for admission.
Mode of selection: The Institute selects students through a written admission test followed by a personal interview. The weighed score of qualifying examination, admission test and personal interview is the basis of selection on merit. Indian applicants called for admission test can claim sleeper-class, round-trip fare on production of original travel documents. Local travel cost is not reimbursed. Foreign applicants fulfilling the admission requirements are exempted from the admission test.
 
How To Apply: Submission of application: The prescribed application form can either be obtained by post or downloaded from the Institute website. Completed application form and copies of transcripts attested by a Gazetted Officer or public notary should be submitted with a demand draft for Rs. 400/- payable to “The Director, International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai” drawn at Mumbai.
 
Foreign and SC/ST/PH applicants are exempted from processing fees.
