The Financial Engineering program prepares students for a career in investment banking, securities trading, quantitative modeling, risk management, financial consulting, and applied research. The uniquely designed curriculum lays emphasis on application of quantitative techniques to problems in finance.
The rigorous nature of the course demands a certain mathematical literacy. IFMR offers preparatory courses in probability and calculus as part of the first-year coursework. In the second year, students take advanced courses such as stochastic calculus, asset pricing, valuation of derivatives, simulation, and risk management.

Eligibility: Graduation in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Physics with consistent First Class.

PGDM – Development and Sustainable Finance (DSF)
The DSF program prepares students for a career in development finance, financial management, regulation, rural banking and micro finance. The students will be provided with an unique opportunity to work in the field with various Centers housed at IFMR, thereby gaining rich practical knowledge.
This curriculum seeks to ensure that its graduates are offered competitive remuneration. The MBA Program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt and integrate those skills in different management settings.

Enrollment:
The students are required to register for the MBA Program of the ICFAI University, Tripura under flexible mode.

Eligibility:
Graduation in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks.

Duration: Two years.

Admission Criteria:
The selection of applicants is made through Admission Test and Interview.

Admission Test:
Students seeking admission into the MBA Program are required to provide valid scores of GMAT/ CAT 2007/XAT 2008 / MAT or interview call letters for IBSAT2007. Applicants are required to appear for Magnus Entrance Test (MET) 2008. Applicants who have scored 60% and above at their degree exams are exempted from MET.

MET is structured on GMAT pattern with multiple choice questions and tests the applicant’s abilities in quantitive techinques, data adequacy, vocabulary and analytical reasoning. Applicants can submit the Application Form for Academic Support and Placement Assistance for the MBA Program at the respective Magnus Campus where they wish to enroll

Interview:
The applicants will have to go through a personal interview. This is to determine the student’s attitude and motivation to pursue the program.

Original certificates should be produced for verification at the time of interview. The original certificates will be returned after verification.

The admission decision will be communicated after the interview. All the selected candidates will be required to pay the admission fee after the admission decision is announced on or before July 12, 2008.

Past Academic Record:
While evaluating applicants, due consideration is given to the applicant’s past academic achievements. Apart from the marks/CGPA secured, various academic achievements and honors obtained by the applicant like professional and postgraduate qualifications will also be considered.

Pre-MBA Program:
To facilitate better understanding and learning during the MBA Program, MSB has designed a Pre-MBA Program consisting of 4 courses. Each course will be covered in about 40 hours. The courses are:

DIPLOMA IN TOOL AND DIE MAKING

Applications are invited in the prescribed form from intending candidates for admission to Four Years Diploma in Tool & Die Making course for the Session 2008-2009 for August 2008. The course is recognized by AICTE and Sate Council for Technical Education & Training, Orissa.

Eligibility: Matriculation or equivalent examinations form a recognized Board with Mathematics & Science (Physics or Chemistry or both) with minimum 50% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST) in aggregate.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Candidates found eligible after screening applications would have to appear for an aptitude test/e-test followed by an interview in the month of June/July 2008. Mere fulfilling of the minimum requirements stipulated in the advertisement would not automatically entitle a person for selection. The decision of Director, IGIB in this regard shall be final.
