Applications are invited for admission to Post-Graduate and Graduate courses during the academic year 2008-09 at the colleges affiliated to Calicut University and University departments under self-financing scheme.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES
1. BTHM (3 years)
Centre which the course is conducted: Amal Jyoti College of Advanced Studies, Nilambur.
Eligibility criteria: Pass in +2 or under 10+2 stream course equivalent and recognized by University of Calicut and age below 17 years as on 1st July 2008.

2. BHM – Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Science (4 years)
Centre which the course is conducted: Oriental Institute of Hotel Management, Lakkidi, Wynad
Eligibility criteria: Pass in +2 or equivalent course recognized by University of Calicut.

3. B.Sc – Costume and Fashion Designing (3 years)
Centre which the course is conducted:
i). University Centre. PT Usha Road, Calicut
ii). MES College,Chathamangalam Calicut.
Eligibility criteria: Pass in +2 or equivalent course recognized by University of Calicut.

4. B.Sc Nursing (8 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: IQRA International Hospital and Research Centre, Calicut
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 Science Group with minimum of 50% marks in the optional subject, viz Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent course recognized by the University.

5. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (8 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: School of Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus.
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 Science Group with minimum of 50% marks in the optional subject, viz Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent course recognized by the University.

6. B.Sc Medical Lab Technology (8 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: School of Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus.
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 Science Group with minimum of 50% marks in the optional subject, viz Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent course recognized by the University.

7. B.Sc Medical Micro Biology (8 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: School of Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus.
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 Science Group with minimum of 50% marks in the optional subject, viz Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent course recognized by the University.

8. B.Sc Medical Bio-Chemistry (8 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: School of Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus.
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 Science Group with minimum of 50% marks in the optional subject, viz Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent course recognized by the University.

9. B.Sc. Information Technology (6 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: Calicut University Department Centres
Eligibility criteria: A pass in +2 of Kerala State or an equivalent examination, securing at least 50% marks with Mathematics as one of the optional subject. Candidates belong to SC/ST need only pass +2 or equivalent examination having Mathematics as one of the optional subject.

10. Bachelor of Physical Education (3 years full time) (B.P.E.) and (B.P.Ed.)
Centre which the course is conducted: Centre for Physical Education, Calicut University Campus
Eligibility criteria: Pass in +2 or pass in two-year course in Physical Education after S.S.L.C recognized by Calicut University. Age limit 23 years as on 1st July 2008.


POST GRADUATE COURSES
1. M.Sc General Biotechnology (4 Semesters)

Eligibility criteria:
Degree (10+2+3) with 55% Marks in Biotechnology, Bio-Informatics, Bio Chemistry, Micro Biology, Botany, Zoology, Medical Lab Technology, Chemistry, B.Sc Agriculture, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Life Sciences of this university or any other equivalent Degree approved by the University.

2. M.Sc Bio-Informatics (4 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted:
SAFI Institute of Advanced Studies, Vazhayur, Malappuram
Eligibility criteria:
Degree (10+2+3) with 55% Marks in Biotechnology, Bio- Informatics, Bio Chemistry, Micro Biology, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, B.Sc Agriculture, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Life Sciences, Bio Physics. B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. Fisheries, B.Sc Horticulture, BE or B.Tech, Industrial, Biotechnology of this university or any other equivalent Degree approved by the University.

3 M.Sc Clinical Psychology (4 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: Prajoyoti Niketan, Pudukkad, Thrissur
Eligibility criteria:
50% marks in any Degree of Calicut University or equivalent degree as recognized by Calicut University.

4. M.Sc Food Science and Technology (4 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted: Centre for Health Sciences, Calicut University Campus, MES College, Mampad
Eligibility criteria:
50% marks in Part III optional in any B.Sc Degree and approved by this University with Mathematics as one of the optional subject in +2 or B.Sc level (50% of seat at CHS, CUC will be admitted directly from B.Sc Food Technology students. They need not write the entrance examination and need not apply.)

5. M.A. Women’s studies (4 Semesters)

Eligibility criteria:
Any degree with minimum 50% marks in Part I, II and III approved by this University

6. M.A. Political Science (Specialisation in West Asian Studies) (-do-)

Eligibility criteria:
50% in BA Social Sciences/PG Degree with Social Sciences and 50% marks at degree level.

7. M.A.Folklore (4 Semesters)

Any Degree approved by this University or Post Graduate Degree approved by this University.

8 M.C.J (4 Semesters)

Bachelors Degree of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent by Calicut University with 45% marks in each of Part I, II and III separately, ‘Professional graduate will be considered if they secure 60% marks in overall subjects. For Backward community 43% and SC/ST pass minimum respectively.

10 M.P.Ed (2 years)
Centre which the course is conducted: Centre for Physical Education, C.U.Campus
Eligibility criteria:
BPE of this University or any other degree recognized by this University as equivalent thereto. PG Degree or Diploma (BPEd/BPE/DPEd) in Physical Education with at least one year duration of any University/Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Should be below 28 years as on 1st July 2007 of admission year.

11 MCA (6 Semesters)
Centre which the course is conducted:
CCIST, Calicut University Campus, Vadakara, Manjeri, Muttil (Wayanad), Mannarkad, Palakkad, Puthukkad, Pullut, Aranattukara, Talikkulam, PT Usha Road, Calicut (Evening)
Eligibility criteria:
i) B.Sc./B.Com Degree or equivalent with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the optional subjects with 50% marks aggregate (including languages and 60% in optional subjects of this University or an equivalent degree approved by this University.) (B.Com Degree with Business Mathematics/Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects are not eligible) OR
ii) B.Tech Degree with 50% in aggregate or BCA/B.Sc. Computer Science/B.Sc.IT/B.Sc. Electronics. 5% relaxation in marks for SE/BC Candidates and pass minimum for SC/ST Candidates of this University or an equivalent degree approved by this University.

General:
1. Candidates awaiting for results can also apply, however, they should have the required qualification as on the date of admission/interview.
2. Application Fee is Rs.300/-
3. Admission will be strictly as per University rules and regulations.
4. Relaxation in qualification and age for those candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/OEC/SEBC are eligible as per rules.
5. Candidates applying for the courses listed above should write an Entrance examinations conducted by the University. However for some courses admission will be done after counting weightage for the qualification as the case may be as per admission rules.
6. The candidate should visit the University website www.universtiyofcalicut.info for detailed information.
7. Application form can be downloaded from the University Website. They should enclose a Chalan/DD drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Calicut University payable at Calicut University for Rs.300/- along with the application.
8. The last date for receipt of filled in application is on 20th May 2008.
9. Separate application should be sent for each course. Request for different courses in one application will be rejected.
10. Application received without DD/Chalan for Rs.300/- and incomplete will be rejected.
11. Enquiry regarding receipt of application will not be entertained.
12. University has the discretion to cancel any examination center without assigning any reason.
13. Fees mentioned in the Prospectus are subject to revision.

MSW Entrance Test: Those candidates who have only main papers require 50% mark for main only.

3. M.P.Ed. (Master of Physical Education)

Duration : 2 years
Eligibility for Admission:
BPE of this University or of any other University recognized by this University as equivalent there to P.G.Degree, B.PEd./D.PEd in Physical Education of at least one year duration of any University/Board minimum 45% Marks.
Mode of Selection : Based on Entrance Test conducted by University of Calicut + Weightage for qualifying Degree.

10. B.P.E (BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION)
Centre which offer the course : Centre for Physical Education, Calicut University Campus.

Eligibility for Admission:
A pass in +2 of Calicut University or any other qualification recognized by this University as equivalent thereto or a pass in 2 year certificate course in Physical Education recognized by this University Maximum age limit 23 years.
Mode of selection : Entrance Test conducted by University of Calicut.

11. B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education)

Any Degree of this University or any other University recognized by this University Maximum age limit 23 years.
