Offers Training Course on Peace Education (Fourth in series)

Peace refers to living in harmony with oneself and with one's natural and social environment. It subsumes respect for differences, human rights, civic responsibility, social-cohesion, justice and equality. Teachers have a significant role in moulding attitudes of school children and orienting them to peace as a way of life. In order to develop skills and attitudes among teachers/teacher educators to practice and promote peace a training course on Peace Education for teachers will be organized from 12th June to 16th July, 2008 at NCERT Campus, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi-110016.

(i) Applications are invited in the prescribed format from school teachers and teacher educators from SCERTs who are motivated to carry forward the training. Govt. deputed candidates will be given preference. (ii) NCERT's decision will be final in matters of admission (iii) Applicants should be graduate with teaching degree (any level). (iv) Out of 40 seats available 20 will be for government deputed teachers and 10 for teacher educators deputed from SCERTs and 10 for private (preferably deputed) (v) Reservation as per norms will be applicable against submission of authentic certificate in support of the claim. (vi) Knowledge of either English or Hindi is a must (vii) No course fee would be charged (viii) Board and lodging will be provided to non-local govt. deputed teachers (ix) Travel expenses (to and fro one time) will be borne by the Council as per the norms for govt. deputed teachers. However, private candidates will bear their own expenses (TA, Board and lodging) (x) The application complete in all respects must reach by 15th May, 2008 through proper channel, to the Head, Department of Educational Psychology and Foundations of Education, NCERT Campus, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi-110016.
