Special Admission Announcement for 2008-2009
(Mainly for the attention for SC, ST, OBC & PH candidates)
In continuation of the Admission Announcement 2008-2009 dated 28-03-2008 published in all leading news papers including Eenadu/ Hindu, Indian Express, Andhra Jyothi, Times of India etc., inviting applications for admission to post-graduate and research programmes during 2008-2009, the following is notified for the benefit of prospective SC, ST, OBC & PH applicants.
I (i) 15%, 7.5% & 3% seats in each course are reserved for SC, ST & PH candidates respectively with a provision for interchangeability between SC & ST wherever necessary.
(ii) For admission to Integrated Master’s degree, PG and PG Diploma courses, relaxation of marks in the minimum eligible condition for admission is provided. There will be no cut off point in the entrance examination for admission to these courses;
(iii) For admission to M.Phil., M.Tech., and Ph.D., a relaxation of 5% marks I the minimum eligibility condition (subject to a minimum of a second class) will be provided. There will be no cut off marks in the entrance examination (i.e. written and oral test) for admission to these courses also. The cut off marks for final selection will depend on the number of seats.
(iv) Seats available in the University Hostels will be provided to them as per G.O.I. norms.
(v) These students may avail social welfare and other Govts scholarships as per their eligibility.
(vi) Remedial courses in English and other subjects will be arranged if necessary.
II (i) As per the decision of the GOI, (after the clearance form the Honorable Supreme Court of India), 27% of the seats are reserved for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates in al the courses, which will be filled over a period of three years (including the current year 2008-2009). There is no relaxation in the minimum qualification for admission and cost of application cum prospectus for OBCs. The cut-off marks in the entrance examination (both written and interview put together) for OBC candidates would be 10% lower than the cut off marks prescribed for General Category.
(ii) Candidates claiming reservation under OBC category must enclose an attested copy of the Certificate on their OBC and Non-Creamy Layer status to the application issued by a competent authority failing which their application will not be considered under OBC category.
(iii) Those who have already applied without claiming the reservation under OBC category may now send an attested copy of the certificate on their OBC and non-Creamy Layer status with a letter indicating the name of the candidate, course and the subject applied for, so as to reach the Dy. Registrar (A&E), University of Hyderabd on or before 10.05.2008.
Prospectus cum Application forms can be obtained in person from the Academic Section, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Administration Building, University Campus, Hyderabad-500046 or from Golden Threshold (GT) premises of the University at Nampally Station Road, Hyderabad 500001, against cash payment of Rs.50/- for SC, ST & PH candidates and Rs.300/- for OBC candidates. The forms can also be downloaded from the University website available for downloading upto 10.05.2008 and submit along with the prescribed fee of Rs.50/- and Rs.300/- respectively.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISISON OF FILLED IN APPLICATION IS 10.05.2008
It may be noted all the prospective applicants that the last date sale prospectus cum application forms at the University counters and the receipt of filled in applications is extended up to 10th May, 2008.
