CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO
1. DIPLOMA IN RADIATION MEDICINE (DRM) PROGRAMME
2. DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL RADIOISOTOPE TECHNIQUES (DMRIT) PROGRAMME

Radiation Medicine Centre of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai conducts two year post-graduate DRM programme and one year post-graduate DMRIT programme under the aegis of the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University, Mumbai. These programmes equip candidates for working in Nuclear Medicine Centres. The training comprises a full time schedule of lectures, demonstrations, practicals, theory examinations, apprentice programmes and clinics. Candidates should not hold any other job during the period of training, or join any other training programme. The selection will be based on all India Common Entrance Test (CET) and interview.


PROGRAMME NO. I: DIPLOMA IN RADIATION MEDICINE (DRM)
DURATION OF TRAINING : Two Academic Years (2008-2010).
ELIGIBILITY : M.B.B.S. Degree including internship from a MCI recognized University. Candidates having post-graduate medical qualification may also apply. Candidates sponsored by Medical Institutions with immediate prospect of post training employment will compete for 5 seats.
NOTE: Sponsored candidates should furnish an employment certificate from the Head of Institution stating that their salary will be paid during the training period.

COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) : The CET will be Multiple Choice Questions and will have 100 questions at the III MBBS level. Fields covered will be Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Internal Medicine (Cardiology, Pediatrics, Oncology), Infectious diseases, Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Recent Advances in Medicine. Minimum marks to qualify will be 50% in CET. However, only 50 candidates in order of merit (Descending order of marks scored in CET) will be interviewed. Final selection will be made on the basis of the performance in the interview of these shortlisted candidates.

STIPEND : Non-Sponsored candidates will be paid Stipend of Rs.7000/- p.m. in the 1st year and Rs.7250/- p.m. in the 2nd year during the Training course.


PROGRAMME NO. II : DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL RADIOISOTOPE TECHNIQUES (DMRIT)
DURATION OF TRAINING : One Academic Year (2008-2009)
ELIGIBILITY : B.Sc. Degree with 60% and above marks on aggregate of science subjects of a UGC recognised University with Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Biophysics, B.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine Technology or B.Sc. (Medical Radiological Technology). Those having M.Sc. degree may also apply, but they will not have any preference in selection.
NOTE: Sponsored candidates with 55% aggregate marks in B.Sc. can apply and also should furnish an employment certificate from the Head of Institution stating that their salary will be paid during the training period and that they will be employed suitably following successful completion of the programme.

However, only 50 candidates in order of merit (Descending order of marks scored in CET) will be interviewed. Final selection will be made on the basis of the performance in the interview of these shortlisted candidates.

STIPEND : Non-sponsored candidates will be paid Stipend of Rs.4,000/- p.m. during the Training course


COMMON FOR BOTH THE PROGRAMMES:
NUMBER OF SEATS : 10 (Ten) per Programme : 5 Sponsored and 5 Non-sponsored in each programme. If the required number of candidates in any one category (sponsored or non-sponsored) do not qualify, more candidates may be taken from other category. For DMRIT Programme, one seat is reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

FEES : Enrollment Fee of Rs.4,000/- will be charged for the whole programme and shall be payable to HBNI. In addition a caution deposit of Rupees Two Thousand will have to be remitted by the selected candidates to BARC.

AGE LIMIT : Not more than 40 years as on 1st May, 2008 (Relaxable by 3 years in case of OBC candidates and 5 years in case of SC/ST and sponsored candidates).

ACCOMMODATION : The selected candidates may apply for hostel accommodation. They will have to pay for boarding and lodging. However, accommodation is not guaranteed.

NOTE : No traveling allowances will be paid for attending CET / Interview.

HOW TO APPLY :
1. A single copy of the application type written on thick foolscap paper in the prescribed format should be submitted and the envelop should be superscribed “D.R.M./D.M.R.I.T. Common Entrance Test", as the case may be.
2. PHOTOGRAPH : Two photographs (passport size) are required. One should be pasted on the top right hand corner of the application and the other, with name of the applicant written in block letters on the reverse, should be enclosed.
3. ENVELOPE : Attach a self addressed envelope (Size: 200 mm x 110 mm) alongwith the application, for the Common Entrance Test Admission Card.
4. COPIES OF CERTIFICATES : Attested copies of M.B.B.S. degree certificate & mark sheet should be enclosed for DRM programme and B.Sc. Degree (Convocation) Certificate & Marklist alongwith marksheet of Higher Secondary (XII Std.) for DMRIT programme.
5. NOTE : Persons working under the Central / State Government / Public Sector Undertaking should submit their applications through proper channel. They may however, send advance copy. Applications which are not in the prescribed form or are not accompanied by attested copies of certificates, photographs and self-addressed envelope of the prescribed size are liable to be rejected.
Selected candidates shall have to execute a personal bond towards the repayment of the stipend received in the event of their discontinuation of the course before its completion.

CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION
