Netaji Subhash institute of Technology (formerly, known as Delhi institute of technology, functioned at Kashmere Gate, till June 1998) shifted to its new, fully residential campus at Dwarka , New Delhi in July 1998. It was established in 1983 by Delhi administration with the approval of the Govt. of India to meet the growing demand of manpower in high-tech areas of Engineering & Technology. The institute has become autonomous since 1987.
With in a span of 25 years since its inception in 1983, NSIT (formerly DIT) has carved a name for itself and it is now an established institute with well equipped modern Laboratories, well laid down `profile of growth` and a strong commitment for achieving excellence in technical education and research, with the ultimate goal of achieving `Deemed-to be University` status in near future. Year 2008 is being celebrated as silver jubilee year of NSIT.
Ph.D Programmes (Full- Time):
Applications are invited for Teaching- cum-Research-fellowship in the following Divisions:-
(a) Division of Electronics & Communication Engineering:
Bipolar and MOS Analog integrated circuits, Current mode Analog Signal Processing, Digital Communication, Optical networks, Optical communication.
(b) Division of Computer Engineering & Division of information Technology:
CAD of VLSI, Reconfigurable Computing and FPGA, Software Engineering , Information System , Real Time Systems , Artificial Intelligence , Data Mining , Image Processing , Natural Language Processing , Computer Networking , Mobile computing, Hardware Software Codesign, Sensor Network, Video modeling & processing.
(c) Division of instrumentation and Control Engineering :
Industrial Electronics and industrial drives, Instrumentation including Biomedical and intelligent instrumentation, Process Control and Mechatronics, Networking and Distributed Computer Control System.
(d) Division of Manufacturing Processes and Automation Engineering:
Manufacturing Automation, Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Industrial Management. Engineering Management, Nano Manufacturing & Nano Mechanics
(e) Division of BioTechnology :
Agricultural Miicrobiology, Computational Biology
(f) School of Applied Sciences :
Mathematics : Approximation Theory, Fluid dynamics, Biomechanics, Linear and Nonlinear waves, Cosmology, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Complex analysis.
Chemistry : Inorganic Chemistry
Eligibility Conditions:
Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Science or Equivalent in relevant area with a consistently good academic record. (Securing 70% or more marks in aggregate)
Candidates selected for admission to the Ph.D. Programme will have to subsequently apply to the University of Delhi for Ph.D registration as per Delhi University Rules.
Candidate applying for Ph.D. programme must ensure that their final result are declared before the date of interview ( June - 2008) otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for interview and admission.
Financial Assistantship to Ph.D students:
The institute aims at identifying suitable candidates having keen interest in teaching and research who would like to take up a career in Academics. In line with this objective, therefore, a scheme. “Teaching-cum-Research-fellowship” has been introduced. Exceptionally brilliant candidates having keen interests in an academic career, shall be considered for this fellowship.
An amount of Rs.15000/- P.M. is being paid under “Teaching-Cum-Research-Fellowship” For successful candidates, on completion of Ph.D. under the scheme, stand good chance of being considered for absorption as faculty in this institute through proper Selection Committee.
A scheme also exists for the award of Teaching/Research Assistantship for providing financial assistance to the students. In terms of this scheme, Full time Ph.D. candidates with M.Tech. or equivalent qualifications are considered. The student who is not found suitable for TRF but found suitable for research can be considered to Ph.D. Degree programme as research fellow with stipend/fellowship as per rule.
Selected candidates shall be required to deposit institute fee and other charges immediately at the time of registration for which he/she will be intimated before the date of registration well-before-the time. The amount payable by him/her in DD/cash as per rule.
No TA/DA will be admissible to the applicants called for written Test/Interview.

Three hundred only) in favour of Director, NSIT, New Delhi 110078, payable at Andhra Bank, NSIT Branch, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110078, should reach to the office of Assistant Registrar (Acad.PG studies) latest by 31.3.08. Please write your name, address and Telephone number at the back of the Demand Draft/Pay order. Separate application form should be submitted for each programme / Division. Incomplete application will not be considered and treated as cancelled.
